Managers must see Levy as an easy touch these days, they just come here to top up their pensions, they know they won`t be backed properly, and will likely be out the door when they don`t hit their expectations. Nice work if you can get it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally. I think Jose has provided the blueprint for easy money. I might be wrong but I don't think Conte is looking at us thinking "I can win here". I think he's thinking "if I win here, great. If I don't, big deal, it's not going to affect my rep and I'm gonna be loaded. Plus I'm living in London".
Wonder which random squad player will be a a regular under conte

Seems like Spurs' preference remains taking on Chelsea once weres.
As everyone knows Conte's first season with Chelsea was brilliant. It may well be with you lot too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can we have Tackle when they done with him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Atm you might have to join a queue. I have a notion that Liverpool may want to do a swop deal with Klopp and some player makeweight.

Conte's career is seriously impressive. I think he did well in Serie B getting a team promoted, he's the one that started Juve's dominance.
I remember being really impressed with Itaky at the Euros he managed, I think they beat Spain very comfortably.
What he did at Chelsea was amazing. They were rubbish initially he then switched to three at the back and they won virtually every game for the rest of the season with the likes of Moses and Alonso being important players.
He's now ended Juve's dominance with Inter.
I love poch and would be very happy to have him back, but imo Conte is a level above him.

Spurs might actually be a problem if this goes through.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So are non-Spurs fans fearing Spurs more with Conte or Poch?
I find it strange as Conte can only do so much if he's not given the tools to work with. In order to fear us we'd need to spend a fortune and we just won't. Honestly, you have nothing to worry about.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know it happened a long time ago but what he did with Juve over that 7 year period is one of the best things that's not spoken about enough in football.
I think given the patience and support, there's potential for him to do similar.
We all Chelsea is a manager merry-go-around. It's always difficult to judge managers on their time there. We all know Conte got offered no support going into his next season. Hence he failed.
However back at Inter and within one season broke Juve's stranglehold on the Serie A title. That's not something you just cast aside.
Poch despite all his potential and great football is still someone that needs to win something of note. He couldn't even win the league with PSG ffs
Both manager's come with their pros and cons.

That Italy side was poverty too - kinda dispels the idea that he needs loads of talent to do well. He just gets teams playing above and beyond what you'd think they were capable of.

People are comparing the (perceived) similarities in Jose and Contes personalities and coming up with all sorts of conclusions about history repeating itself.
But let’s not forget it it was Conte who picked up the mess of Jose’s last season at Chelsea and won the title with them. He clearly had a very different impact on that team to the one Jose was having.
Football wise Jose was astonishingly clueless while he was with us. Long ball tactics, different lineups every game, changing it all up at half times, misusing players, and, crucially, having no defined style of his own but reacting to each opposition on their merits. Players were unfit, bored at training (reportedly) and we had no attacking patterns whatsoever.
Conte May be a firebrand like Jose who makes a lot of demands, but that’s where the current similarities end and I wouldn’t expect any of the same footballing issues that we had with Jose once Conte has put his stamp on things. The guy has just won Serie A, and has won 7 league titles in his decade as a manager across three different clubs. He is elite, currently one of the best managers in the world and even Levys staunchest critics surely can’t say this is an underwhelming appointment or one lacking ambition.
Even if it does blow up in two years time, Poch will be ready to come home then!
I for one don’t have a fraction of the reservations here that I did when Jose was appointed as that was such an obviously bad decision doomed to fail, whereas with Conte I would be excited to just sit back and see what happens.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you’re right Ace. If Conte is appointed, his relationship with levy will be fascinating. If levy didn’t back his boyfriend Jose, I can’t see conte getting any more.
There is no way Conte would take this job without some massive reassurance from Levy that he will have mega money to spend..
It would be interesting to see how Conte would pan out under ENIC, Levy could ruin any manager in the world, even the very best.

The same was said about Mourinho
We spent for Jose
We bought feckin Matt Doherty for Jose ffs
A bit of good news coming out of the club for a change.
Let's hope we can get it done.
I can only get excited about Conte or any manager if we are going to have a big spending spree this summer and reshape the squad. That is with our without selling Kane for 150m+.
We need to invest BIG if we are to just stop the rot.
I guess the biggest question at first would be, can we see the players that we have already at the club being able to play the way Conte way?
The rumour is £30m net spend, and apparently without selling Kane.
That's peanuts. We don't have much in the squad worth an awful lot and there won't be any takers for them in this climate so recruitment will be difficult.
I really hope you're all right about Conte. I think those suggesting the usual 2 year Conte cycle, then we we get Poch back are dreaming. It doesn't work like that. Poch won't last another 6 months to a year so he's likely to be in another job by then by which time he might be happy where he is.
