Just read the match report. Seems like the same as last season. Poor first half, much better in the second, but can't find the ol' onion bag.
Poor first half, decent second half
Neves certainly our best player, looks right back to his best. As an attacking team we do rely so much on Traore although Trincao had some very good moments and is clearly a great prospect. Spikey game for a friendly and Saiss did his best to get sent off. Didn’t get much from Moutinho and I do question if he has another season in him. Looks like Bruno has decided on a 343 set up but if so I’d rather see Semedo and Ait Nouri as the wing backs
Ended up being a bit of a flat pre season in the end. Still hopeful of a few new signings to rejuvenate the side but all in all it looks like the first few weeks of the season may not be much to get excited about. Disappointed we are still looking like going with three at the back as well. But if we do then it has to be Ait-Nouri ahead of Marcal.
Pretty awful match thread tbh. Where's Sir Halfy.
Anyway more on our players that have been loaned out.
Giles:- started for Cardiff and had the assist in their goal
Sarkic:- Starts in goal for Birmingham
Sanderson:- Not in squad for Birmingham
Perry:- Unused sub for Cheltenham
Corbeneau:- Unused sub for Sheff Wed
Toti, Bolla, Herc and Campana all start for Grasshoppers. Bonatini injured.
So, as I've mentioned many times before...why send out players on loan, if they're not getting game time.

Well I.m terribly sorry if the match thread doesn't come up to you exacting standards but it's a pre-season friendly in case you hadn't noticed.
Normal service will resume this week (always supposing that halfy bothers his @rse)
Safe to say that if these players can’t get game time at Cheltenham and Sheffield Wednesday, they wouldn’t be featuring much for us.
So, that’s the reason why we send them out on loan. Ovs

Corbeanu and Perry only joined their sides late this week so they were not going to start. No idea on Sanderson but assume it's an injury.
As for the match thread, my sharp precision analysis will be back next week as I decided to go have some fun in southern Arizona this weekend.
I sincerely hope that Sir Halfy is ok. Anyone on here in contact with him?
Grasshoppers 2-0 up, both goals from Campana.
Grasshoppers win 3-1, with the 3rd goal coming from Toti Gomez.
Lage allegedly want three or four more players before the window shuts.

That is surprising but good news. Hope he can maintain that form.
Latest on Rafa.
The Spanish footballer has been one of the names of the summer market. Many Spanish clubs and the rest of the continent have been interested in him until finally it has been Atlético who will have a footballer who is a step away from Wolverhampton in an operation that will be around 15 million euros.
4 year deal, apparently and a nice profit.
Shame we couldn't have at least seen him here for a little bit in pre season, you never know, he may have liked what he saw and been keen to stay. Still, great signing for us and great to make that kind of profit if it does indeed come through.
Also if Atletico is the destination it will be a big ask, especially this coming season. May well be that a year from now his career hasn't progressed at all.

Very much doubt he would have liked what he saw yesterday. Heavy rain showers does little to improve Wolverhampton’s allure.
The first half was as bad as anything we saw during Nuno’s last season, we desperately need some fresh impetus and the arrival of a creative midfield signing.
Best part of the game for Wolves was the first 20 minutes of the second half where we pinned Celta back and had no end of attempts on goal. How we didn’t score in that period was a mystery with shots being blocked on the line, hitting the woodwork and going narrowly wide. Nobody better for Wolves in that period than Trincao but Traore and Jimenez playing their part two.
Bringing on Dendoncker to replace Moutinho at the break helped. Hoever had a decent game on the right but Semedo would have given us more in attack. On the other side Marcal is more solid than Ait Nouri but doesn’t give us as much going forward. But Marcal may be the better suited of the two to play behind Traore.
With Boly and Mosquera injured defence is a concern going into the difficult start to the league season. Kilman and Saiss are both better on the left although Kilman has the better skills on the ball to play out of position. Saiss was at his most erratic on the day. Gave away the penalty, made one terrible foul tackle and was constantly getting involved in skirmishes. No question he would have been sent off if this was a league game.
Going into next week I expect we will see Semedo instead of Hoever and Dendoncker instead of Moutinho. But it’s clear we still need two or three new faces
Biggest positive to take from the game was another clean sheet for one of the best front lines in the Premier League.
The crumbling career of Jose Mourinho hit another low yesterday as Roma lost 5-2 to Betis in a pre season ‘friendly’. He was sent off and so were three Roma players. He was a good manager once
His ego has got the better of him and if he is not careful he will become a laughing stock.
Good to see Ryan Giles getting man of the match in his home debut for Cardiff
I'll bet Man City are wondering if they have done the right thing spending £100m on Grealish now that Messi is available as a free agent
Arsenal have set their sights on signing James Maddison. Let’s hope they get him before the weekend
Maddison is just the sort of player we need in the 10 position behind Raul.
In the last 17 months there has been no improvement made to access to the Steve Bull stand, no new stand between the Steve Bull and the South Bank despite planning permission being granted. And now we find the Graham Hughes stand won’t be open for the first two league games because of structural problems. Fosun have really taken their eye off the ball here
