Yep. Risky with how little football he’s played though.
Yeah definitely. I’m not really sure what he’s like coming straight back into a team after injury either as he’s never got injured for us until now. Some players are fine and others take a while to get up to speed.

I do find it slightly odd that people have watched the first two games and think Sancho and Grealish are the answer, when our main problems are in the centre and fullback areas and how they’re set up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because it is not realistic to expect Southgate to change tactics
Expecting southgate to play fluid attacking football is like expecting Mourinho to play tiki taka. His entire football philosophy is keeping it tight at the back and nicking a goal. He was reluctant to add TAA to the squad. He will never use attacking FBs.
England squad spend the entire training camp trying to perfect southgate’s boring tactics. Even Tuchel won’t get them playing a fluid attacking football against Czechs. Southgate doesn’t have the will or capacity to adopt an attacking style of play.
Once you realize that two holding midfielders and two defensive FBs are southgate’s game plan for the Euros, only option left with is expecting him to play better creative players.
Hence the clamour to play grealish and sancho. This team has to rely on on individual talent to create chances because game plan will creat all.
Or you can protest to get southgate sacked before the next game.
Tuchel, fluent attacking football?!
That doesn’t make any sense, if the argument is that Southgate has already decided how he’s going to set the team up then he’s just as unlikely to swap out the wings for entirely different styles of players than the ones he’s using either.
Whichever way he decides to set up the front four, it won’t change the fundamental issue of both how the balls getting to them or how they’re being supported. If he changes the personnel then he will have to make a change to that.
I know, isn't Culer also RDD?

I doubt it. RDD always comes back as an utter spacker trying to pretend he isn't RDD.

I said Tuchel because he can drill teams in a short time, although his last three teams has played better attacking football than any team Safegate managed.
As for personal, its a no brainer. See the positions Sterling and Foden generally receives the ball. Grealish and sancho have a skill set to make something happen from those positions than Sterling and Foden.
How? Foden is being asked to be a decoy runner and Sterling is being asked to get behind. That’s literally the opposite of what you’d want either Grealish or Sancho to do so you’d have to change the whole transition.
Exactly how many times Sterling was picked up when making those runs in behind?
Look at their touch map, and positions they receive the ball. That is the reality. Its obvious that Grealish and Sanco has better skill set to create something from same positions.
It’s not like these supposed ‘roles’ ideally suite Foden and Sterling, They create feck all anyway, maybe a player with different skill set can create better chances.
You’re missing the point, I don’t think they suit them at all. How he’s used Foden so far is criminal. He’s receiving the ball with his back to goal, that is not where ideally you want Sancho or Foden to receive it. He’s doing it because they’ve clearly worked on Phillips being the runner past it.
My point is if he’s going to make a change there, then there’s no reason he can’t make a change in the fullback positions and how he’s utilising them too. He has to tbh. Sterling being a case in point. The amount of runs he made that didn’t get the ball forward as the fullbacks were moving it back to the centre instead is the issue I’m taking about.
Southgate is a clown I agree. As I said earlier, he worked on this game plan since the first training camp. I don’t think he has the capacity or will to change it.
So he is more likely change personal than setup. I’m not saying Grealish or sancho is better suited for those roles. But They will most likely receive the ball in similar positions if played. And they are more capable of creating chances from those positions.
And I don’t get that logic. Grealish doesn’t run past the defence to receive the ball, nor would you want Sancho to receive the ball with his back to goal, they’re even less suited to receiving the ball in those positions.
If they play, he’ll utilise them differently.
Well he's not starting. Another manager that just doesn't get it.

Why? you already agreed that the Sterling and Foden doesn’t suit the roles given to them.
So why do you think he will have to change the entire game plan to accommodate two different players who’s roles wouldn’t suit them.

That first half proves the point. Biggest change is the full backs and what a surprise, space in the middle and Sterling’s role doesn’t need to change.
Had he put Grealish into the Sterling role rather than the Mount one, it would have needed an even bigger change. He’s also changed Saka’s role on the other side as Phillips is staying deeper.
