Tell them give us Grealish, straight swap and we may start talking to them....

They have signed Buendia though who could be considered a replacement for Grealish should he be sold.

Not sure how they thought increasing their bid by £5m was going to do the trick

I'm wondering if this is ESR's agent spreading (false) information to Villa as a tactic to force Arsenal to hurry up and offer ESR a contract. Alternatively, maybe it's a way to demand more money.

James Benge reported that Arsenal haven't held any talks with ESR about his contract since the initial ones 6 months ago. So we're either very stupid or we must be extremely confident he'll sign irrespective of when he gets offered one. Which is bold.

I personally think he'll stay, but naturally, speculation will accumulate the longer we go without announcing anything.

I can't see it happening at all, it would be carnage, selling a homegrown player, after his breakout season, to Villa! Feck off!

I'd argue that he's their Barkley replacement

It could be the case. Either way, It's inconceivable that he'll play for Aston Villa next season.

Not for me personally, I can see Buendia in their front 3 with Douglas Luiz, Morgan Sanson and John McGinn as their midfield 3 now.

Yeah that makes sense, but who's their back up? In the same way we need ESR and another CAM, they do, too.

Not sure about back up for midfield but back up forwards (assuming Grealish leaves) would be El Ghazi and Bertrand Traore in the wide areas which is good depth for them.

Yeah they do have quite a high ceiling as a team. Hopefully they are foolish with the Grealish money.

exactly, if even Arsenal think its a chit offer, what does that tell you.

Yeah they are certainly a developing team that's for sure and look another reasonable bet for Europe this season if they can add who they want and manage to keep hold of Grealish and co.

£30m for a 21 year old with two league goals is good money

posted on 28/6/21

He's a good player with a bright future, ESR could be a talent. £30m would be a steal for somebody like that.

Wow, what an absolutely idiotic rating of a midfielder. Why do Liverpool fans deliver awful comments with such pride? Haven't you got a window to lick?

I know it's metaphorical but licking the transfer window doesn't sound very Covid secure

I think Villa have had a word. Usually teams speak with the agents before bidding. I think they've promised him he'll replace Grealish. And he'll be a nailled on starter. They wouldn't be this persistent without encouragement.
