christ, you really are a moron, just go and spend 2 minutes figuring out what position he played in in those 2 seasons, and where he has played in the last 2 seasons, then it will all become clear to you.

hint: if you play in a midfield two your primary role in the team is not to score/assist.

anyway, i'm done, as i said before just give it a f()cking rest for one day, please.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm a moron?

If being in agreement with Former players who know more about the game than all of you Pogba cultists makes me a moron then great.

7 goals in last 2 seasons. However are we going to replace that quality? πŸ˜‚
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is surely not possible to be this daft. Pogba, for me, has been a disappointing signing. I have said this here numerous times. Some of what the pundits say I agree, some I disagree. Some pundits also think he is world class.

I reiterate, what Roy Keane says is not gospel. As a manager, he has failed thats why he is sitting down at sky studios. Even the greats like Mourinho get it wrong (KDB).

Recently Pogba’s been regularly outperforming Bruno. Not everything is about goals and assists.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

His last PL goal was in January. πŸ˜‚

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Wait, I thought we bought Sancho for the goals and assists?

Now we are are saying goals and assists don't matter, performance is more important for some players!

How about this, every player does their bit so Utd are successful and winning trophies! We bought Pogba to win us trophies, win the league, we have failed, Pogba has not done enough to lift us to next level.

Pogba actually posts elite level numbers in pretty much every relevant area, not just goals and assists but per 90, it's pretty much everything from ball progressions, carries, dribbles, key passes, key chances created, expected assists, successful pressures, successful passes under pressure. His passing ability is undoubtedly world class and there are Passes he is one of only a few players in the world with the ability to make. I could carry on but you get the point. It's not just a couple of broad stats that he does alright in, he is very good at most things you want him to be.

Whether you see them or not, they happen. Whilst this isn't the whole story and I can understand an argument against him being labelled a world class player, he's bizarrely under rated at the same time. The comment about him performing like a £15 million player is just weird and so wide of the mark it's a caricature. You can disagree with his level of ability without out right lying.

He's a really good player with world class attributes and capabilities. It's almost a meme how many good performances and matches seem to have just been forgotten. At this point I think it's just willful ignorance.

Does Pogba affect the game, does he affect the players around him like a Scholes or Keane?

Scholes scored, assisted but above all was the lynchpin of the side, controlling the heartbeat of the team.

Pogba is not even a shadow of a Scholes, not in a Utd shirt anyway and that is why he'll always remain an enigma, a show pony who places dance routines and ridiculous hair dos over getting Utd to where it belongs.

posted on 1/7/21

And listing a handful of pundits as credible experts is weak. These are people who are paid to react to a match immediately after it finishes and have an interest in stirring.

Players, managers, coaches seem to really rate him.

Well yeah, he does. Not to the level Scholes did but to reduce him down to a shown pony and insulting hair remarks isn't fair either.

Does he get ahead of KDB at City if they were in the same side?

Not a chance

No he probably players with him? I'm not sure any player in the world pushes KDB out of his position at City, that's a pretty crazy standard to use to summarise a player.

Do you think if Pep could have Pogba he would say no? Him, KDB and whatever cdm Pep would want to make it an incredible midfield 3 wouldn't be the worst thing.

Ok, maybe not, maybe a tad harsh

There is a player in there, we see it regularly for France, we saw it regularly for Juve

Maybe the difference being he's surrounded (was at Juve) by top players who complement his game, so then it suggests he's the sort one buys as the icing, the luxury player.

Utd are way short of in key areas to afford a luxury, we need the solid base first.

89m is a elite level transfer fee, I expected and still expect elite level performances week in, week out.

Greenwood Cavani Sancho

Camavinga is more like Pogba than a midfield enforcer. Tchouaméni or Kamara is the under 20 guy you want for that role.

Possibly, my question is if Pep had to choose. One or the other.

And you expected him to drag us up to the level of winning titles. Which is unrealistic with the squad and management we’ve had. You also seem to want him to he a hybrid of Kante, Modric, De Bruyne and Bruno.

Pogba is set the most unrealistic of expectations when it comes to what a midfielder should do on a pitch. I don’t care how much he cost, we all know Ed Woodward got robbed by Juve.

Sanches?

He's been a revelation at Lille and had an impressive showing in the Euros.

Proper box to box, everything Fred wishes he was!

Agree with Scott

Same way Maguire is held to a much higher standard too because Woody doesn’t know when to walk away from negotiations

I don’t think we want a B2B if we want to unlock Pogba. We need a player who will roam around the pitch and do the defensive work.

Now if Pogba moved on, Camavinga is the man to replace him IMO. Wouldn’t mind Soumare either, who I think was more influential than Renato at Lille.

Early jitters aside, Maguire of late is showing us why he's regarded as one of the best, he's performed with consistentecy, defending from the front foot.
