OP

I often go to games alone, as my best mates whom I used to go to back in the day, have either passed on or no longer go. I do however meet up with relatives once in the ground, although we rarely sit together, as they are mostly season ticket holders.

Because I purchase my ticket on a match by match basis, I usually try to get tickets in the same area, but am never in the same row. But I find meeting up with different supporters every home match, is all part of the experience.

When Spurs were at Wembley, I usually went with my brother-in-law, so obviously we sat together at those games.

Michael, I was going to say, you are more than welcome to join my crowd (well sometimes as many as five. ) pre match once inside the ground.

Cheers Sandy, appreciate the offer and I'll definitely consider it should I ever decide to stop following United and purchase a Spurs season ticket.

Can't see any issue, probably better than going with the wife who can't stand football lol

many blokes around my area of the ground come on their own. You get to see the same faces each week and you soon get to talking terms with them during the games... well moaning with them most of the time along the same themes. And you always leave the ground saying 'see you next week'.

Go to games on my own occasionally and it’s fine. You are there to watch football and soak up the atmosphere. Yes, it’s nice if you have company but can still be fun alone. I drive as well to Spurs, so I’m pretty content in my own transport and go grab some lunch before. I can’t wait to take my baby boy though when he gets older. That I am looking forward too.

Where abouts is your dads ticket Mike?

The famous quote "happiness is only real when shared" is true. That's why I go to Dundee games alone.

First advice is take up the season ticket.

Second advice is make new friends at the game, sandy is dead right there. It depends on your own make up as a person.

Third advice is to sell the premium games to out of towners to make up the cost

Me and my brother share a season ticket and both go to games on our own when we can’t grab a second. You soon get to know the people around you. At the end of the day you’re all there to support the team

Have to say Dads taking young kids to games is a pain. The kids always want to got to the toilet every 10 mins, get to the bars before half time and leave early at the end so you are for ever having to stand up like a fricking yo-yo throughout the game with a very apologetic dad constantly saying 'sorry mate' to everybody they squeeze past on your row.

The season ticket holders around me and my dad's seats keep dying so I've stopped trying to make friends with them. It is an issue within Scottish football that the older fans are not being replaced because kids these days are being brought up thinking that football is a TV show so would rather watch Man City on the tele than experience real football.

The football on the display is probably actually only about 40% of why you go to football matches. The other 60% is what you don't get by sitting at home watching football on an ipad.

and then there are the kids (and mainly Korean adults ) who insist on standing up during a game with their back to the game and hold a scarf up so dad can take a photo of them with the pitch and players in the background. Tw@ts.

NW quadrant but pretty far back, it's a good viewpoint tbf to 'soak up' the atmosphere but not really amongst it.

they don't need to go to the loo they want to go to the loo as they find the trip more interesting than watching the game.

Normally when I go to Spurs I go with brothers and mates as we share STs and are sat together in our group. I also have mates who sit elsewhere in the ground and occasionally meet them for a pint pre or post match.

I’d have no issue going alone though, you get chatting to people around you and can still grab a pre match beer.

Fair comments all round to be fair, once the game starts I'll have no issues tbh. Know a fair few who go so can always arrange to meet up before the big games or ones with nice kick off times.

Yeah agree kids are probably one of the most annoying people to be sat directly near or on the same row. As Barry says though, these are the fans you need to get hooked on live games to keep the match day atmosphere going when they're older.
