It is part of the modern game and the top sides and players in the world do it - Neymar is on the floor more than he is on his feet. Immobile was shown up as a horrible cheat in the Belgium game. Spain are constantly falling to the floor and the French go looking for it as well.
England over the years in tournaments have been knocked out on the back of a hand ball goal, a Simeone dive/play acting, a Frank Lampard goal incorrectly not given and a couple of headers against Portugal and Argentina not given due to “fouls”.
We’ve caught up, we realise it’s part of the game now and use it to our advantage - time the curlers learnt
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its not always part of the modern game. And it doesnt have to be.
Denmark werent doing it last night.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Denmarks dive for the FK that they scored from was as much of a dive as Sterlings.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Great free kick though.
I obviously get the fact that loads of teams push the rules to the limits and normally it doesnt bother me.
I wouldnt say the penalty was necessarily cheating - that was more down to poor refereeing.
Kanes performance frustrated the life out of me though. And I dont agree that when your team benefits from it you ALWAYS turn a blind eye to it.
I think it depends on how far you take it.
Kris Boyd used to frustrate the life out me with his antics - hitting the deck whenever he felt the breath of a CB on his neck to win fouls.
I think it was one game against Dundee Utd in particular he was really bad for it. Won one of the softest pens I have seen. It was embarrassing we felt the need to resort to that.
Absolute riddy. Used to drive me mad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But it's good centre forward play. I've lost track of the amount of times Rangers have been under the cosh in Europe or an Old Firm game and a ball gets cleared up to Morelos and he draws a foul. Takes the heat off the defence, gets your team up the park and takes a few seconds off the clock. The crowd applaude it.
We all like it when our players do it and our teams benefit so we can't get upset when others do it.
Besides where do you draw the line with cheating? If a ref gives a throw in the wrong way and the player who benefits knows should he tell the ref he's got it wrong and give it to his opponent? Same with corners? Surely it's also cheating if you know you are benefiting from something you shouldn't?

Shouting for and claiming a throw/corner when there isn't a doubt in your mind you touched it last is no different to 'winning' a foul for your team by going down easily.

I am fine with players 'drawing fouls' the way Morelos does. That is good centre forward play.
Its when no foul is committed that it boils my beans.
Lad touches Harry Kanes shoulder last night and miraculously bot legs give way instantly. Thats not drawing fouls thats fabricating them.
So lets take the Lafferty and Mulgrew incident.
Lafferty cheated. Rangers benefitted from it.
Am I not supposed to be embarrassed by that and be able to criticise Lafferty?
Simply put England should be thrown out of the tournament for laser penning the keepers eyes out.
Rangers v Real Madrid 25th of July A good friendly to look forward too.

Immobile is brilliant, he had Laporte on toast in the 2nd half before he got taken off on Tuesday night
That's Italy's biggest weakness, they struggle a bit to replace the starting 11, Belotti isn't anywhere near the standard of Immobile and Berardi is too hot and cold to replace Chiesa/Insigne
Meh
I'm not that fussed on the alleged "dive". There was a bit of contact and as minimal as it was he had every right to go down. It happens. It's been happening for years and we've all always said that unless we wise up to how they game is played these days; we'll never get anywhere.
Scotland probably being the prime example with dated training and tactics. And we wonder (Rangers the exception last 2 seasons) why we are generally so sheite at international and European level.
What was by far more sinister was the laser pen. I can see that coming more and more into the "game" with free kicks and penalties; for both the striker and the keeper.
Schmeichel should have done a Feurer (remember him) and fallen to the floor clutching his face before appearing next day all bandaged up demanding and getting a replay on Friday night

England charged for boo,s lighting fireworks and the laser pen
Was surprised to see the same referee last night who was in charge of the England - Germany game
he missed a blatant card by Kalvin Phillips that night and last night he gave a penalty for nothing
he also added on 7 mins and change at the end of the game when it was supposed to be 6
I have no real issue with Sterling going down in that situation. Running at pace between two players in the box - he is taking a risk with the chance of a small punishment (a yellow card) or a massive reward (a penalty to qualify for the final).
It was the whole Kane thing that was clearly part of the game plan. Get the ball out wide and hit the deck at any opportunity.
It was just so obvious and frustrating that the ref bought it every time.
It was like the Aberdeen tactics against us in the 2-0 cup replay in SGs first season.
Long balls to Ferguson 10 yards inside our half, feel a defender coming within a yard of you then hit the deck. Get the farmer boys in the box and sling the free kick in.
Horrible to watch.
Didnt even resemble a game of football.
