Yes I'm getting bored sh1tless of female news readers who by there own admission normally have no interest in football excitedly counting down the days/hours until kick off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why does it bother you that they're women?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Woke warrior alert!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or, now hear me out here, we don't like it when being interested in football is somehow seen as inherently suspicious, annoying or fake. It's a weird and pathetic thing where grown men feel the need to exclude others from their hobby to justify having it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WTF are you going on about!!!!
I don't know where you live or where the person that said about the female news readers lives.I live in the North West of England and the female news readers on local news absolutely haven't a clue when it comes to football.
When they have to read the autocue regarding the football you can see they haven't got an interest or a clue about the game.
They are just doing their job, reading the autocue, their interest or lack of it is soo apparent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So just say the newsreaders. Do you think all the men are proper into it, too? Do you live in a world where Emma Hayes wasn't getting craap every time she opened her mouth, despite clearly knowing more than all the knuckledraggers around her put together? It's shiite and boring and it's weird to pretend it's not what it is.

Amen to that.
Part of what is great about a nation doing so well in a tournament like this is that it captures people who wouldn't usually take part.
I don't see how it's a bad thing, it's a bit cringe when you get the likes of Holly Willoughby, mum dancing to football's coming home but cringe in a positive way. It's a bit of fun and after the last 18 months I'm honestly surprised that so many people are miserable about it. Who cares if it's 'coming home' or not? It beats all the race and gender baiting that's been going on.
Not a fan of anybody gatekeeping things like sport. Who determines who is a 'real' fan? Maybe lookup the no true scotsman fallacy. I guarantee that when the Olympics are on, people will be cheering for GB, especially if they are successful. People who couldn't tell you the qualifying journey or really anything about most of the people representing us, it's no different and it's bizarre that people are surprised by the reaction.
When Wimbledon is on, everyone I know turns into a tennis expert. Ready to relay the stats and information they've read in articles or heard on the radio and pretend ofr a bit that they give two hoots about it. Then go back to never mentioning it, same with the Olympics.
Honestly, if it genuinely winds anybody up, some positivity and fun, you need to find something productive to put your energy into. There's enough toxicity and negativity to go about as it is, last thing we need is the fun police saying who should and shouldn't get involved based on how many minutes of football they've watched in the last 5 years.
The coverage is a bit over the top but we could be in a position where we have no tournament, no football. That looked like a genuine threat just over 12 months ago. My lad never really took to football, just not his thing but he's 12 now and this Euros has sparked something in him and he's all over it and it could quite easily be the thing that brings on a love for football. That's another thing about a good run in a tournament like this, it creates fans, it gets people on board, it inspires people to get into it.

Probably a majority of people in the UK have minimal to no interest in football.Whether that be women, men or I'll have to inlude this because you'll probably have a hissy fit the other 100+ genders that people claim they are.
PawlBawron has observed that he has seen female new readers who have admitted they have no interest in football are counting down the hours till kick off.
Why shouldn't he comment on this.Emma Hayes does know her stuff and she's clearly passionate about football, but her voiced is monotone and not suited for commentating.End off

The only ones I hate are the politicians trying to attach their names to it. The rest belongs to everyone. It would be a bit less cringe if they stopped asking Welsh people to support us, too.

The worst thing I always used to find when tournaments came around was going to a bar to watch and there always being the gobsh1te blonde chick on some dudes shoulders shouting and hollering and waving a flag like they have been doing it all their lives when in fact two weeks prior they didn't even know there was an offside rule.

My sister got really into cycling since she met her boyfriend. She knows a ton about it now, follows all the races, has her own impressive pieces of kit and it's her main form of exercise. Some women get into things to have something to do together with their husband. It's not weird, I only originally got into football to have something in common with my dad. The passion grew from there.
Honestly those blonde chicks are coming in clutch and bringing the energy.

Contexts exist. Men haven't had to face the same kinds of sexism that women have. You can't make two things out to be the same by pretending everything around it doesn't exist.
You're clutching at a "free speech" angle here. This was all kicked off by me asking why he said that. I wasn't trying to shut him down, I was asking for why he said it. And then, depending on the answer, I would have probably used my freeze peach to criticise him. It's how the world gets better, by people listening to criticism. I know you called me "a woke warrior" for it, but the world is moving on whether you like it or not, and a big part of that is people refusing to say nothing when people act badly.

Yes they can. I was saying they were dreary. And the difference is, those ones tend not to know their stuff because their insight into the game starts and ends at where their coach told them to kick the ball. But they don't catch the same shiiit.

Contexts. It's all about contexts. You're trying to nail down rules detached from their purposes so that you don't have to learn and understand those purposes yourself, and can just bash people over the head with the rules instead.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably a majority of people in the UK have minimal to no interest in football.Whether that be women, men or I'll have to inlude this because you'll probably have a hissy fit the other 100+ genders that people claim they are.

Why specify female newsreaders? Assume he’s not bored of make newsreaders doing the same. But weird.
Why is he bored shiiteless of someone doing their job? Not as if said female newsreaders are counting down to kick off because they’ve all of a sudden started linking football. As you’ve also said they are just doing their job, as instructed and paid to do so.
