I'll only believe it when I see
Would love to see us play this way however this is ESPN. The same source that said Grealish to City was almost done and that the deal for Varane to United was in the closing stages in the last few weeks.
To think used to be 4-1-5 though one of the inside forwards was sort of midfielder. Often the thinnest on the team, with a studious look and floppy hair.
If he was lucky the rest would call him prof
Unless we're upgrading the midfield with a monster of a DM I don't see it working

To be honest, if you add Varane and Sancho to our squad last season, you probably get within 4 points of City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Assuming they don't improve, of course.
We cant play 4 3 3 with what we have, only way ole has the nuts do to that is if he knows we getting a wc dm, fred/mct/matic are bad enough as a two imagine them as a 1

I don't see why we can't.
I'd go for Pogbe, McT and Bruno.
Or Garner could be given a try
We don’t really have the players to make it work effectively (nor the coaching), and Ole’s not given any indication it’s how he once to set up, especially since Bruno has been so crucial to the attack.

......................
Yes we can.
Another thing to consider is that we could try and play the tactics in the OP and if we get pumped by some team Ole may very well retreat back to the McFred partnership as he probably knows and trusts them (rightly or wrongly).

----------Varane | Maguire ----------
--------------- McTominay ---------------
Trippier | Bruno | Pogba | Shaw

------ Greenwood | Rashford ------
is the formation laid out yesterday. Particular attention was paid to the movement of Bruno, Sancho and Pogba.

A small aside, but its amazing to see plans for United's first team with 8 Englishmen, 4 Mancunians, and 4 academy players in the team.

5 academy players. I forgot Mason.
It's not as if neither Pogba or Bruno will have any defensive responsibility. They're not just going to play up front. They'll both have to work back to an extent. The dm won't be abandoned. A quality DM would be great but to say we can't play that formation is daft

It’s not just about the McFred partnership, but how we’ve been attacking and defending in a particular shape for a long while now.
Obviously making adjustments isn’t a massive problem, but this proposed Pogba and Bruno as ‘8’s’ set up would need a massive change to how we play, something that seems unlikely.
