Anyway, World Cup next year in India. Hard to look past either of India or England winning it, although Australia normally turn up at big tournaments.

Hopefully we'll actually have some bowlers fit by then

Dumb batting going for another boundary when we'd already got 15 from it

It's a strange period for England where the test team is having a bit of a revolution and the ODI team hasn't played a huge amount since the world cup. They now have a new coach and captain and a lot of pressure to build on what Morgan has already built.

Anyway, it feels very early to be writing the team and Buttler off, this one isn't over yet although that dismissal of Livingstone is probably the end of us getting anywhere near 250 which was probably a minimum. Can't blame Buttler anyway if the whole batting unit fails.

Yeah Livingstone has become a proper hard hitting slogger, he used to be a decent looking batter but he probably makes a decent amount of money playing the way he dies.

England cricket have done a deal with the devil so they can only be good at one format at any one time.

I know we play aggressive in ODI's but feels like too many are still T20 mode where a 20(15) is often job done.

No one is really taking responsibility for that big innings.

Indeed, it's what they did against the Netherlands but they have all probably played far more T20 cricket than 50 over cricket and maybe the mindset isn't quite right. I know the Morgan way was to continue being positive but 10-12 overs of 4 an over is still fine if you keep wickets in hand.

It used to be try and bat at 10 an over for the last 10 overs but there's no reason these guys can't bat at 13/14/15 an over with wickets in hand now days.

India should still win this as par feels 300, but at least we've got some runs to defend now.

If we can get to 250 you never know.

From where they were, England have got much more than they should have been allowed

England all out for 246. India should win.

We did score more than we should have, but still not enough.

Even if we don't defend it, I prefer the idea of us trying to defend 250 over 350. Low scoring ODIs are much more intruiging contests over bowlers trying not to get hit for 6 every ball.

I would say so even given the early wicket of Sharma

Mind you if we get another one (either of these two) it could be interesting in the next 2 overs
