This is totally unacceptable. But thats ok, they are on MILLIONS. so its so easy to continue to fail.

IF the ECB had any balls they would sack Silverwood if we lose this test.show some guts. But nope LOSING is acceptable!

3 ducks out of 7 wickets. so far.

Awful year for test cricket for England, definitely more concerned with the t20 World Cup and pointless ODIs, can’t imagine how going down under will go. I predict a bloodbath

Again this totally unacceptable its gone on for far to long.. Something has to change. heads need to roll.

Thats the issue these days. These players get paid way more for 20/20 and that stupid 100.. So when they get fired from playing test cricket it means nothing to them.

Seriously anyone.. Buttler only got chosen because he a friend of the captain. His test record is awful. Like the rest of them

I could tell you a mile of the like of Burns and Sibley have technique issues.. They are just not good enough.

The only way England win test matches is because our bowlers. Thats why our win to loss ration is terrible in the last 5 years. cause simply apart from Root. no one else has scored any decent amount of runs..

They need to have losers above the door in the dressing room. let realism sink in..

Root gone. Decent innings. Very poor from England in general.

There needs to be changes.. in the batting order. get rid of Sibley Burns Crawley.. I dont care who we get in, Just get some others in, ENGLAND DO SOMETHIG..

Glad we prioritised this nonsense hundred tournament over proper cricket...

We really are an awful test match team. Ashes will be a complete embarrassment.

When you have a coach that failed at international level and cant even be bothered to get fit... The whole mentality is wrong. Its a closed shop where they all protect each other while raking in the millions they got from selling their tv rights to sky..

Started so well with the first test win against India coming off the back of the win over Sri Lanka. It's been tough going ever since but India and New Zealand are much stronger than England at the moment.

Stokes is a huge miss for us in all areas and the team needs to build in his absence and have other players stick their hands up and deliver for the side.

As well as India have bowled today, there's been some really disappointing wickets and missing of some straight balls. Most of our players have played one day and Hundred ball cricket as preparation for this series since we played the NZ series so there's been no chance for our players to even try and find some form.

5 wickets lost for 17 runs apparently. Shocking.

Id love to say it was form thing.. but these players have constantly failed their entire careers.. for the main they are not good enough. its obvious to everyone.

You get Alastair Cook on the BBC talking oh so sweetly and oh so nicely. He shows sod all passion for winning.. If i was their captain id not put up with this.
But again Root is like Cook.. Its a closed shop.. If Root had any ounce of brains he would step down and concentrate on his batting

Bloody hell it was 5 out not so long ago I disappear for 20 odd mins and now 9 down!

This won't go down well I'm sure, but Stokes has let us down.

He was playing in that nonsense hundred last week, but has pulled out of a huge series when we really needed him. I'm sure he's having a difficult time, but with no bubbles this series and his team desperately needing him he should have been able to get through this series.

Stokes lost his father recently. I wouldnt hold it it against him to take some time off.

Of course form plays a part. Sibley and Burns have scored 15,000 FC runs between them averaging 42 and 39 respectively. They are the best 2 openers in the country and in the middle of a summer approaching a test series against one of the top sides in the world, they should be coming into it off the back of a number of county championship games rather than one day cup games with weakened sides whilst the hundred is going on.
