Pope, Bairstow and Moeen really need to contribute with runs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pope hasn’t got the minerals. Quite a fluent player but doubt he has the mental strength for test cricket
Said the same about Ian Bell but he eventually came good. As long as he's kept at 5/6 and stays injury free, I think he'll have a decent career.

Yeah that’s true. Bell didn’t look like he’d cut it at test level after that 2005 Ashes series.
Pope looking excellent, usually nicks off when he looks fluent in the 20s though.
Huge opportunity now to book a permanent place in the team.
Flurry of boundaries here. Hopefully can keep it going.
Always less nervous with Bairstow when he’s on the attack
Rank bowling from India being nicely punished at the moment.
Went for a p iss and England score 30 runs
India's backup bowlers getting a beating

Hmmm, feel like he's playing a bit too loosely here. Bit worried about him!
I see ground bans work well in cricket fat to$$er ran into a player as well
The size of a house that bloke
Decent partnership so far. Hope they can both add another 100+ runs together.
Has Warne ever done a commentary stint without advocating for a spinner to bowl?

Can't imagine Jonny was happy that he steamed into him
Really good partnership this
Good session for us. Can Pope or Bairstow go on and get a match winning hundred? Not holding my breath!
Don't see us getting a lead

We're only 52 behind with 2 set batsmen in the 30s, it will take a bad collapse from... yeah it's very possible we could be 20 behind
It'll be interesting to see what approach Bairstow and Pope come out with though. See out the first 8 or 9 overs of Bumrah and Umesh before going on the attack or whether they just go for it from the off and get setting more defensive fields if we start getting close to their score.
Brilliant documentary there. Sky cricket is always on point.
