I only sold one youth player since I took over United for 500k don't know what your talking about rof.
so if you have a Harry Wilson in your youth that is worth say £10m, you lose for nothing?

Think you already have an advantage when Fan can actually sell two academy players for 100m
That is upto whoever is buying surely?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dont just copy what you want. As I said, that is completely fair.
I dont think it’s fair if random nobodies from academies bring cash into league.

Yea unless you promote him to your squad.
I don't agree with that at all
if he moves for £0 you get £0
If he moves for a price surely you get his TM value, if whoever doesn't want him you foreign off
And again, you cant just sell them they must have to move in order to foreign
Like I gave Welshy a player for £0 the other day as he moved to Brentford on a free

Why devalue cash?
Why give an even bigger advantage to the big clubs?
Why not encourage deals?
If the player had any value you’d promote not lose.

As it should be. Did you even know his name before he moved?
The point of academies should be to benefit from good youngsters, like the two you sold to Welshy for 100m.
Not generate cash for nobodies.
Yes I did know who he was
So)
If a player moves from Chelsea to Werder Bremen say, and his TM is £1m, Werder Bremen sign for £10m, I would only be entitled to his TM value
Yea I’d rather you got nothing unless you promoted to youths
Same as if a Leicester Youth moved to Werder for 10m.
I’d have option to promote or lose free.
As I don’t lose anything from him moving - so why should I make a gain?
I just don't agree with you on this at all
Think this is more to do with Leicester having a crap academy than anything else
Leicester academy is actually really good. Barnes, Luke Thomas, Tavares etc.
Yet you’ve not been able to answer any of my questions.
Why make a gain for no loss?
You have option to promote to youth teams which would give you a gain.
Why devalue cash?
Why not encourage deals?
The players belong to you, you have every right to make whatever cash you can from them
If a player moves to another in the league for £0, then you get £0 unless you promote
If a price is involved then surely that should be relevant
If a player moves to a foreign club you promote or get TM value which could be anything from £0 upwards
It is not devaluing cash
You’ve not actually given any response to any of my questions
It devalues cash as you gain cash for nobodies. Whereas likes of LC is actually good at making a profit on players.
And you still have opportunity to make cash from those players if you promote them. Plus can sell ones that don’t leave as you have recently. So why do you need extra gain for no loss. I get you want the biggest advantage you can get. Obv my academy is in the middle.
So would be good to hear from LC and Tino. Never seen LC desperately look for cash for any youngsters as he doesn’t need to.
This has nothing to do with me or Chelsea
You seem to be making this personal
Absolutely not. You’ve not answered any of my points.
So I’m using examples.
My argument is simple, encourage deals, value cash, if a player leaves your academy you have option to promote so can make a gain. If he leaves he’s no longer your player so nothing is lost.
Im simply saying if your not promoting them they’re not one of anyone’s good youths, so why make a gain for that. And that it gives an even bigger advantage to bid teams, who already have a massive advantage from academies.
It’s exactly what you’ve done with Bates too. Promoted him and now can look to use him in a deal. That makes perfect sense to me and is more than fair
As I say happy to see what TAB, Tino, LC etc say
So what’s your problem if he moves for cash, I don’t see any problem not like they are worth millions
I have no problem if you now sell for cash having promoted for him.
Just think my promote to sell is fairer. And promotes smaller squads/deals
For the record I'm with Fan on this. But a vote does seem the fairest option.
Rather than a gain for a nobody. As I say that just gives an advantage to big academies who can sell nobodies for cash - when they also have a big advantage from actual good youths

Be good to hear your view Welshy.
Promote to sell, or simply be able sell extra academy players you don’t want that are moving for cash without them ever being in your squad
Well firstly, I know that I acquired two Chelsea academy players for a combined 100M the past few days. I don't think that is being argued is it? I signed Mason Mount for that value a couple of years back and he didn't turn out bad 😁
In terms of managers purely foreigning out academy players? I remember at Norwich I brought Idah up from the academy. Had him in my squad for a few months before eventually selling (I had become Sheffield United by then). I don't think I'd have sold him in foreigns had he not been in my squad. That's on a personal level though.
I'm not overly for or against
