Well firstly, I know that I acquired two Chelsea academy players for a combined 100M the past few days. I don't think that is being argued is it? I signed Mason Mount for that value a couple of years back and he didn't turn out bad 😁
In terms of managers purely foreigning out academy players? I remember at Norwich I brought Idah up from the academy. Had him in my squad for a few months before eventually selling (I had become Sheffield United by then). I don't think I'd have sold him in foreigns had he not been in my squad. That's on a personal level though.
I'm not overly for or against
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yea separate to that, don’t think anyone has an issue with that, always been that way. Just players that are leaving someone’s academy so is no longer their player.
My issue is making money on players that would never get into the squad, so guys like Myles Peart-Harris shouldn’t make Fan any cash. Unless he had him in his squad for two weeks and then sold.
As think if you have to promote to sell it encourages deals, and gives benefit to having a smaller squad(which I thought should be encouraged). And also means cash has more value as don’t get loads of nobodies being sold for cash.
I don't see the issue selling a youth player for cash if he moves for cash, not like it will be a lot, obvs like Ive said you cant sell a youth player unless he does move.
If he goes for nothing he is no longer yours
Just caught up
I'm kinda aligned with rofs side of the debate... Either promote or lose them....
We've always used TM for guide prices and if Dan Smith is valued at 500k but goes for 5m to dortmund then you should still only get the TM value not the sale price
So,
If a player moves from your youth to another club in the league, it will be for £0.
If a youth player moves for a fee, you get his TM value, no matter what the foreign club offer
So most of the time you will get £0 for them anyway
Isn't that what rof said you have to promote them or lose them
You were on about making the transfer fee for them weren't you even if it far exceeded the TM value
Like I said
So, if rof sells Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Wolfsburg for £5m he will receive £2m as his price is £1.8m
If he sells Callum Hulme to Wolfsburg for £5m he will receive £0
Examples only
Ah OK I've re read rofs last comment to Welsh
Yeah that makes sense he wants them in your squad prior to the transfer not adding afterwards to make a couple of quid
I said that at the start, changed it
ok
If a youth player is transferred between clubs in the league, then it is for £0m
If a youth player is transferred to a foreign club then you will receive TM value not transfer value
Yea I still disagree with the second part of that unless they’ve been in your squad.
For all reasons outlined. Don’t see arguments against what I’ve said other than people making quick and cheap cash. If there’s another reason Fan let me know
The players belong to you why shouldn’t you get something for them if a foreign club buys them
It’s not like you will get £20m for them
Am sure clubs irl don’t say to foreign clubs, just take him we don’t want anything as he is nowhere near our squad
3/4 of youth players have 0 value anyway I’d imagine
Ok so you have no arguments against any of my points.
It’s all for cheap and easy cash.
Do what you want, but good to know.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly.
Will benefit the big clubs most.
Who already have the benefit of top youngsters they can promote.
But good to know that’s your reason.
Ok Rof
You make up a set of rules a,b, c et
And we will discuss

What fortunes am I going to be making?
You set up the page for opinions.
I gave mine. And said my piece. I thought you wanted to encourage smaller squads.
You’ve done exactly what I’m suggesting with Bates. You’ve not given a response to any of my points and clear it’s just quick and easy cash clearly for you still winw

If there’s no fortune then why bother?
Why not promote smaller squads and benefits to folk who can promote.
I mean there’s no squad limits in summer anyway, so given that’s when most leave if folk are below 45 can surely just promote
I don’t say anything more now though.
Have game my opinion, and established fact of matter for why you want to be able to. Only arguing as didn’t get a response to my points.
Obv it’s a vote anyway.
so now your being childish about it, cos I don't want to argue with you
Good to know
I asked you to list your 'rules' in order like I did so we can discuss, you havent
That’s embarrassing Fan. Was nothing childish said, so to remind you, just pointing out for the 50th time how you’ve not responded to any of my points.
And your only argument is because you want quick and easy cash. Stating facts.
yeah am desperate for cash
If I wanted cheap and easy cash Id be accepting Tinos offers
