Stress not - it's been planned for by Ole and his team.

The attacking 3 will be Sancho drifting in a free role with a front 2 of Cavani and Mason. Dan James and the 3 wonderkids, Diallo, Pellistri and Elanga, will be their support.

Rashford will miss the first 6 games or so, but then he'll be back and fighting fit.

Tbf he probably does need a mental break as well. He’s had the weight of the world on his shoulders recently.

I was just thinking that. He’s also played not just a lot of football in his career but also under probably more expectation than is typical for a young player. I actually hope that not just the break but having to compete a bit with the likes of Sancho, Greenwood and Martial, rather than being an automatic choice who’s always expected to deliver, might be a good thing for him.

Clockwork

He’s really carried us at times over the last couple of years. This is a 22/23 year old carrying the attack of Manchester United. And then you look at all the shiiiiiiit he’s been getting for daring to do something feed starving children, and it’s gonna take a mental toll.

We’ll miss him, but if we can learn to play without him it’ll only be a good thing for him and us in the short and long term.

Hopefully he comes back physically and mentally recharged, because then we can get him back to his devastating best.

What can be said. He's absolutely quality on his day but his head isn't what you need to be a top dog. He'll play but it's going to be very much as back up and a 30 million bid sees him gone.

Ole really rates him - so there is scope for him to play his way into the squad and starting 11. It may be that these plans and his omission from them are to light a fire under him.

I can tell you that he absolutely hates Kylian Mbappe - apparently at Monaco they were a bit of a Nani Ronaldo situation where Martial was Cristiano and Mbappe was Luis. Tony has the talent to be the best player in the world but he just doesn't have the aggression.

Maybe we will see some more fluent football in the final third now, he was like a black hole for a lot of last year.

Rashford out for "12 weeks" is the metaphorical equivalent of a major signing.

The team (and club) will see how much more effective they can be without him.

Nice guy an' all that malarkey, but as a footballer he's not worthy of his regular starting position - and his presence has the added negativity of reducing the effectiveness of his betters. Particularly the likes of pogba, cavani and fernandes.

United just don't need him

What's wrong with you people I Knew about his shoulder injury long before the Euros (it was common knowledge). I get nationalism ruled head he barely featured in this tournament and as they went out in the finals he could and should of gone to get medical attention. From like in April or march we deffo had top 4 secured from then and he may of been back for the tounament. Ah well now will see if are other forwards are as good as the media suggests
