Clarke can go on loan or pay full season in u23.
Sessegnon is fine. He us a left wing back. Played well in Germany so I'm not knee jerk on him.

The rest shows when you award dross with new contracts above their ability.

Winks, Doherty, CCV, Sissoko, Davies

Clarke and Sessignon are now in their third season with Spurs and neither show any signs of being anything bar average. Sessignon needs to go back to Fulham in my opinion, about the right level. And Clarke, sorry see absolutely nothing in him to think he will ever make it at Spurs. Maybe a lower league Championship side may be his level.

OK I got Skipp wrong, but he had actually full season on loan, playing every week, so obviously had something going for him.

Getting rid of players is incredibly difficult when they're shiiite and often overpaid.

It's pretty easy to sell players you don't want, you lower the asking price.

Levy has always wanted top dollar for our rubbish players and that's why we can never get rid of them.

Sessegnon needs more time - he has been injured for most of pre season. He did well at Hoffenheim last year and sure if we did sell him we would have plenty of suitors. I think we will start to see a lot more from him.

I’ve no idea why CCV is at the club, he has consistently been loaned out to Championship sides - he won’t make the grade here. Clarke ditto.

Sissoko, Winks and Doherty - fire sale or job lot for £15m. Three players who are just not good enough. I can’t stand watching Winks play anymore, safe pass after safe pass.

Davies I like, he is steady and has his uses, I wouldn’t want to get rid.

It’s not easy when the player does not want to go which is apparently the issue with Winks.

It’s not easy when the player is on circa £90k a week and the only clubs interested don’t pay anything near that in terms of wages - which is apparently the case with Sissoko

Davies is fine, he just gets criticised cause he's not Rose or Reggie who he's back up for.
Sess is fine to see how he gets on this year.
Winks needs a move for his own sake. When he came on for 2nd half in pre season we started seeing him moving the ball quicker and passing forward, then yesterday back to nothing.

At the end of last season, so many people were saying we need a year in transition and want to see some kids promoted and integrated in to the first team. We saw that last night and people spitting their dummy out straight away.
Did people think we could just throw them in and they'd all be leading lights?

You put that mix of players from last night together and it would always be difficult,.

The only 100% need to go players for me are Winks and Sissoko. Aurier depends on if he's going to be used at all or not, and the rest only if a suitable offer comes in (suitable, not top end or even true value)

Levy and fans are getting punished for awarding contracts on sentiment and not taking a step back and working out a plan.

I'm hoping Paratici adds some neutrality to analysis.

Tomiyasu deal is a must for me. We need cover at both CB and RB. We would be daft not to do this.

Need Palhinha or Nandez to add DM competition or if Skipp or PEH have a loss of form or injury

Should have re signed Vinicius. He scored goals buy as usual grass is always greener. Vinicius would have had one years adjustment to England and could have been even better this season. This would have given us more time and leverage to find a Harry replacement whilst Vinicius deputises.

Lots to do in this window

Yeh seems a bit silly letting Vinnie go, when you have no back up strikers. Cannot rely on a 17 year old kid with little or no experience to lead the line on his own.

Probably because Daniel Levy wants a minimum of £50m for each player.

I have to say I wasn`t impressed with him, but I suppose we all see games differently. He had a couple of little runs, but no end product. I will cut him a bit of slack as it was his first game back, but I am not holding out to much hope for him in the long run at Spurs.

No one had any end product but he made a few excellent defensive contributions. One was fantastic.

Also was one of the players actually trying to be pro active.

I’m more worried it took Nuno 70 minutes to change shape when I say within the first 10 it was all wrong and we was getting out numbered in the middle

With the likes of sissoko and Aurier we just need to accept the best offer we can, we'd be able to get a good price for Winks as his English.

posted on 20/8/21

From a neutrals perspective, it's obviously very difficult. It's not like FM where you transfer list your player and then suddenly loads of clubs come in and pay the fee for him.

That's also 7 first team squad players and, regardless of whether they are good or not, they are still part of your squad. You won't be able to go into the season losing 7 first team squad players as your squad will be far too thin for the PL.

It's a long process and you will have to attempt to move on a couple every window if you can and reinvest correctly.

Eddie, Spurs will get nothing for Winks as it stands, he is totally useless, and other clubs can see that as well. That is why no club has come in for him.

I'm sure if Winks were available for say £10m then plenty of midtable clubs would be in for him and offer first team football. Which I would think would be more attractive to him than sitting on our bench. If Nuno said you aren't getting a game here, but Southampton want you in their first X1 then I'm sure he would go.

But no doubt as usual, Levy will want something ridiculous like £25m for him then haggle with any interested club.

No I get that, and said so before the season kicked off, that you just cannot get rid of all the players in one go. But at least a couple of those mentioned in the article should have been moved on pre season.

posted on 20/8/21

You've made your point about Winks though and being "utterly useless" but he won't be to some clubs because he's still a PL quality player, but other clubs have to take into account transfer fees and especially wages as well.

The problem with somebody like Winks is he probably suits playing at the level of Brighton, Crystal Palace etc towards the bottom end of the PL of higher mid-table but would command transfer fees and wages that clubs like Villa would pay/afford for instance. It might not be the case for Winks specifically, but I just mean in general.

posted on 20/8/21

We’ve allegedly had an £18m offer from Everton for Winks but he doesn’t want to go - that’s the problem. Which just need to stop playing him full stop so he gets the message. By playing him last night he will be thinking he will get chances to get back into the team

posted on 20/8/21

He might not have wanted to leave to go to Everton though. He could move to somebody like Palace for example, the attractive prospect there is that he wouldn't have to relocate (or relocate very far) because it's on the other side of London essentially to Spurs.

There are a variety of factors as to why somebody wouldn't want to move clubs. Sometimes that's just the issue with players at this stage. Ultimately it would take another season or two to move somebody like Winks on, but coming through the academy at Spurs and looking at the squad as it is now, he has an opportunity to play for the club he came through at on a regular-ish basis, why would he want to move?

I would prefer to loan him - see if he likes the loan club and then he might be more willing to go next summer.

We all want loyalty from players so why shouldn’t they expect some back from us.
