Lo Celso... Ndombele..

This is has to be make or break for GLC and Ndombele this season.

Ndombele wanted to leave and is still not fit enough. I can see him pushing for a move in January.

Out of the two I am slightly more optimistic about GLC but he needs to start contributing with Assists and the odd goal.

£280,000,000 in five windows according to that.

The shoe string narrative that keeps getting trotted out on here looks quite silly going by that.

Look there’s no point moaning or getting frustrated.

The 4 richest clubs and biggest spenders will occupy the top 4.
Even if Lo Celso and Ndombele play every league game and perform brilliantly, 5th is the best we will get.

In order to compete we need to spend net a further £200m to £250m or fluke another Poch who coaches players such that the team becomes greater than its component parts.

No amount of posting on a forum will change it. Just go and get drunk instead.

Watched some old YouTube videos of GLC....he definitely has the talent just needs a formation that he understands his role likenwith Argentina.

I'm hoping for a 352 moving forward. We only have 2 goal scorers so let them play up top together.

We have 2 wing backs and 3 decent CBs. This means Nuno should only be worrying about the central midfield 3. Hojbjerg means technically he only has 2 problems to solve.

It shouldn't be that difficult if he played the formation that works for our personnel.

struggle to see where Bergwijn and Lucas get minutes and with injuries to either front 2 then this formation is out the window

other than that it does suit our squad tbf, with Dele rotational with Ndombele and Lo Celso. Skipp as Hojbjerg cover.

Jack Clarke played for the U21's against Cambridge last might and apparently stunk the place out. Another £12m down the pan.

Don't forget Sess. £25m. Another dud.

Scarlett played as well so probably won't be involved tonight.

alternate issue is from what we've seen so far this season the full backs have horribly struggled offensively

I had more hope for GLC this season too, but doesn't look very promising now, completely given up with Ndombele, I think he's in the wrong league

This is what it was like at Arsenal too when we were paying off the stadium. Its a tough one because you don't want to end up like Barcelona but you don't really want to end up like us either

Both a complete waste of time and money. Typical Spurs big money signings. Totally overrated, neither suited to the league. There's a reason they are at Spurs and not at a proper club.....Betis and Lyon couldn't believe their Luck.... Neither have contributed a thing for 2.5 years. Lamela is good example, so expect them to hang around like a bad smell for another 5 years, picking up huge wages while the mediocrity continues.... Great work Levy

Spurs have spent about £160,000,000 in the past three windows haven't they?

That's one hell of a shoe string.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

17th out of 20 for net spend over the last 5 years and we didn’t have any real major sales like Coutinho, Bale etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Net schmet.

Spurs have spent £160,000,000 in the past three windows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs have sold over a hundred million pounds worth of talent in the last 3 windows, including Trippier won won La Liga, Eriksen who won Serie A, Foyth who won the Europa league.

We can both spin it Robbing, net is very much relevant
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nah. Eriksen maybe but that's it.

Look, which ever way you slice it Spurs have spent £160,000,000 in three windows and now have players like Lo Celso, Bergwijn and Gil on the books. That's up to Spurs and no one else. Massively increased wages too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There nothing wrong with Gil, he is just young but is showing a lot of promise.

Net spend is important as are wages, which never gets taken into account.

With a higher potential net spend we probably could have got a manager like Conte rather than going with the budget option of Nuno

This essentially covered each year by the 2 NFL games, Boxing, Rugby and concerts - it’s why they went with the flip pitch.

This summers issue was we took ages to get a new manager, hired one that convinced nobody and then dawdled on Kane all window

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Since the stadium opened the spending has increased.

It is the time preceding that and in particular the summer of no spend during the construction of the stadium that has limited us and stalled our progress.

We are now spending when on a downward trajectory and it would have been better to do so when we were at our peak. The circumstances of the stadium influenced that massively. We are now trying to fix problems rather than improve an already strong and competitive squad.

We have the money to do so, but this is a relatively recent development..

Generally i do not like these 20:20 hindsight articles....why did we waste money on x y z when we could have had a b or c? There were few if any unhappy with the signings of the likes of NDombele, GLC, Bergwijn, Sessegnon etc when they arrived. and despite the best part of £140m being spent on this lot, the shoestring accusation persists.

Levy has his faults, the way he gets deals done, haggles, makes life difficult, negotiating everything to derath has no doubt cost us at times but has also seen us make some amazing buys. The accusation that we do not spend is now defunct

Y’know Robbing you can just type £160m, it’s quicker, putting all the zeros on it doesn’t make it more money.
