Love that you told us before your family. Congrats
Secrets of the Baby Whisperer: How to Calm, Connect, and Communicate with Your Baby by Tracey Hogg.
It breaks down your kids first year, why they act like they do, what they're learning, what signs and so on. I read a few 'months' ahead each time and it really helped with my first just knowing a bit what yo expect.
Also a book on finance, kids are fvcking money pits.
Get into an NCT class - that helps
Sleep whilst you can
Start baby proofing the house - you can never start that too early, think sharp corners

"I’m really unprepared to be honest"
Honestly, you'll never be prepared. It's the best and most difficult thing at the same time.
My only suggestion, enjoy your freedom whilst you can, go for meals with the Mrs, go abroad, see your friends. And when the baby comes, give each other your own time, especially your Mrs.
Congratulations.

I'd also say, don't fall into the trap of buying everything and everything. A lot of things you'd use a handful of times at most, and it'll be sat in your loft or garage for 5 years.

Thanks man I’ll have a look into that!
It’s still very early stages so I don’t want to get too carried away until we get through the first (currently halfway) but yh just want to get as prepped as pos! There’s so much 5hite out there on the internet about it all 😂
Congrats to your mrs
Assume you'll be stopping the milk deliveries now.
But yeah thanks all I’ll have a proper look through these recommendations after work!
Congratulations. Nobody is ever prepared for pregnacy especially the first time. Right now it's early days so you and the Mrs should together(smugly) just enjoy and let the early weeks (first trimester) pan-out and not get too distracted by all that what's to come just yet.. Then look at joining the NCT antenatal course. This will help you (both) loads.

Busby how did U manage work and baby stuff? Some of my friends with kids don’t have any issues tbh and seem quite chilled

Mrs only works 3 days, I'm lucky in that I have a flexible (but high pressure) job, so my average day is getting into the office for 09:30 and leaving by 16:30.

Btw, congratulations.
Congrats to you and your mrs, ours were unexpected and turned out to be twins.
My living room has turned into a toddler prison, tv, log burner, book shelves, all caged off. Baby gates all over the house, cupboards locked. Garden gates, locked from the inside. It's easier when they are babies, you know where they are what they are doing.
All the gadgets and books are not important imo. Nappies and clothes are the only things you'll need plenty of and once they start eating real food, you can give them what ever you eat, so doesn't need to expensive.
All the best anyway, mine are an absolute joy at 2 years old.
One tip, if you're a member of Costco, buy Kirkland baby wipes. You'll use one to every 5 pampers wipes, we used to buy in bulk whenever they were on offer. We used to buy them at fall price they were that good.

Hiya mate, congratulations, hope it all goes well.
I don't know about pregnancy, but once you get the baby home and start all the sleep deprivation bit do not under any circumstances take any advice from Gina Ford ('The Contented Little Baby' book).
If you have a copy, take it outside and burn it. She'll have you trying to run everything to a strict timetable and it'll ruin your life (we tried it the first time, not on any of the others, it didn't go well).

This.
Except the pram. Get one with a carry cot, the Luna range is good. I've bought cars for less in my youth but they're worth their weight in gold.

Yeah but when they do your faaacked as they grab everything and have no sense of self preservation.
OP, I’ve not played on my PlayStation since December - free time no longer exists.
Also if you wear glasses then be prepared to replace them as they will be getting faaaacked from all the grabbing off your head
