See, this is just because massive drop off in form? Like soyuncu and maddison. It happens. If this article was when they were in form sure but theyve all been awful, especially dias for portugal. So is anyone overrating them atm?

Not really. This would have been my answer last season too. Him winning PL pots was hilarious at the time.

I actually thought he was class at times last season for city. That said i dont remember exactly why i just remember thinking this kids quality a lot of times.
Watching him for portugal at the euros was painful though. And not impressed as much for city either this season.
Overrated combined XI:

Trippier--Walker--Stones--Maguire--Shaw

Mount-----Kane-----Sterling
He's a good/very good centre back who got treated like a world class one that was solely responsible for man city's defensive brilliance last season

The English media love a last ditch block. They don't seem to realise that a lot of the time if a player is making last ditch blocks, it's because he's been caught out of position to begin with

The wan bissaka syndrome
I think Dias is a lot more than just his excellent, and it is excellent, defending though. The way he seemingly organises and encourages his team mates he looks incredibly influential on the pitch.
I think he is very good indeed.
Jack Grealish.
Close thread.
Don't understand why Grealish is getting mentioned, has he not created the most chances in the PL this season? Or is that just for City thus far?
Dias was only 23 when he won the title in his first PL season.
He’s still too young to be described as overrated
Harry Kane and Jack Grealish are apparently the 3rd and 4th most valuable players in the world. Sancho is 9th.
Kane will be 30 in just over a year. Grealish will soon be 27.
23 year old Chiesa is the 34th most valuable player. Behind Declan Rice and Mason Mount.
Imagine if John McGinn or Billy Gilmour were English!

grealish was the clear winner 3 months ago, though his lead has narrowed. foden - who has apparently gone from good pl talent to ballon d'or contender in 2 games - is closing fast.
fernandes is ludicrously overrated by a section of united fans, who have failed to notice that the "creative lynchpin" of the team has just notched his first assist in 22 pl games.
honourable mentions to jorginho (for the ballon d'or?), kante, and tielemans.
Rudiger is being considered as one of the best CB in the league but has always looked suspect in a back 4 but now he plays in a back 5 and 3 defensive midfielders he is the best now.

Weird assessment of Tierney. He's been one of Arsenal's best, most reliable, players - I'm always happy to see him on the team sheet.
I'm guessing you've only really seen him in that Chelsea game when the entire team were pretty crap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
not at all. I see plenty of arsenal. seen the brentford, chelsea, city, brighton, spurs games and maybe 1 or 2 more this year.
Kane is the world record holder for least amount of PL goals scored this season. We are basically in November now and he is yet to find the net. You could only imagine where City would be right now if they had signed him and added those 0 goals to their tally.

Van Dijk.
Very good player and one of the best in the current era when it comes to central defenders. He'd be in good company with the likes of Rio, Terry, Vidic, Stam, Carvalho, Adams, Kompany etc... but he's not better than them.
He merely stands out more in the present as the level of CB isn't as strong as a whole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This falls into the 'Hell be seen as a whole lot better once hes retired' category
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think its reverse, VVD gets put on some pedestal for reasons unknown. Obviously very good but once all said and done we will likely say . He was great for a couple years.

Maybe it's got something to do with their contracts and wages hence why they are the most valuable...
