Ole - post United

I doubt anyone from top 6 will appoint Ole. This tells you all you need to know. If Klopp, Guardiola or Tuchel left today, they are going to a top side. Do you see Ole being appointed by Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus??? No chance. We may not act like it but we are still amongst these guys, so why are we with a mediocre coach

Have a day off Rob

I reckon he will go back to Norway.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with him for sure, there are plenty of managers who keep getting jobs without having progressive ideas about the game so I don’t think that’ll be a problem.

For me, he should go to the Bundesliga if/when the right job is available, he’s managed in the CL which you’d think would give him some kind of kudos?

He could go in at a Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim, ‘Gladbach type club, maybe he’d do well at one of the bigger dutch clubs like PSV, AZ or Feyenoord?

this would be my bet, he'll have made a ton of money off united, and can afford to take a job purely for fun.

personally i think he is slightly underrated as a manager, but the media does have a big part to play in people's perception of him, so it is difficult to see him attracting too many juicy offers from european clubs when the united curtain falls.

I don't think he was struggling for bread even prior to united job

I hear Newcastle are looking for a world class manager and have Ole has their number 1 target

I suspect he won't manage again, certainly in England.

true, but there's ferrari money, and there's 200ft yacht money, and that 3 year extension will have put him nicely into the latter category.

Can't see Carrick, Phelan (probably retire) or McKenna going with him to Norway so we'll probably end up giving them cushy jobs with the reserves or something if the new manager wants to bring his own team with him.

Go back to Norway ! how will they understand his accent now !

the media narrative - which does seem to have some influence in how managers and players are perceived - is that Ole is a nice enough guy but not a very good coach and who’s survived as long as he has due to a mix of fan goodwill and the individual ‘moments’ from his best players rather than down to any tactical genius or progressive ideas about the game.

You and Red Indian are now considered the "media narrative"?

Maybe i've missed all this media coverage, but I find them to be suspiciously quiet about what they think of Ole.

I watch a lot of ESPC Fc and one of their pundits is Jan Aage Fjortoft who initially (obviously) was very supportive of Ole but over the past few weeks there’s a bit of needle there. I don’t remember too much of 1990’s Norway other than they played with a very traditional old school English style but I wonder if they competed with each other for playing time and theres old Viking rivalry between them. Some kind of axe-off in the making perhaps?

Newcastle need a solid foundation to build on for the next manager to take on. Apparently Ole's the man for laying a good foundation so you might be onto something here.

Ole would build a roof before hs laid the foundations.

Definitely back to Mould. In truth, he should never have left.

He'll bring the feel good factor too, isn't that what Newcastle need after the depressing 14 years of Mike Ashley's reign? Its a perfect match up. Keep Bruce as the assistant, he's also a Utd legend, what could possibly go wrong?

I always knew you were daft, but Ole isn't. He's on ten£million à year here, and was probably on a hundred thousand a year in Molde

Yes really... I've not seen any media articles that seem to so perfectly align with your own point of view. Feel free to share them.

They’re all out there. Just type in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer into google and you’ll see many many newspaper outlets and football websites all with a shared opinion that Ole is out of his depth. The onus is on you to prove me wrong rather than for me to do any work that a simple google search could uncover.

Remember, you are the one who laughably said ‘the media are suspiciously quiet on what they think about Ole’, I mean, really Ji ? That’s almost as hilarious as when you said paedophilia would be legal within the next few decades.
