Still, as long as he bucks up his ideas, starts playing well and banging them in again, he will be quickly forgiven and his legacy less tarnished.

Exactly, he nets 20 this season, we finish top 4 and win a league cup/FA cup/Euro cup then he is just as likely as ever to get fans player of the year - all will be forgiven and forgotten, it’s not like he shaaggged Wenger behind our backs

But he might have been meeting Pep down his local Wetherspoons while we were at work!

How the hell have people come to the conclusion that I'm trying to WUM? Have a word with yourselves.

My comments weren't derogatory or on the wind-up.

Frankly, I've echoed sentiments of many Spurs fans I know about Kane's behaviour and I even said that I got annoyed when players from my own team in the past did the same.

Whether you keep him or not doesn't really matter to me, as my personal belief is he won't hit the heights he has done previously anyway.

Nonetheless, I didn't realise I wasn't allowed to comment issues pertaining to other clubs.

Thanks for letting me know.

Kane hasn’t ever downed tools, he is just out of fitness and form in a team that hasn’t created anything substantial in the league. When Kane isn’t at 90-100% due to his frame/stature he looks way worse than he is.

This happens almost every year though and people still raise the same questions and worries each year and then it clicks and he goes back to his best again.

He is allowed to be disappointed, he has still since his return been a professional putting in the work same as he has every season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My thoughts as well.

He hasn't 'downed tools' as some people lazily state.

Clearly on a wind up. You're not at all. Always good to have reasonable debates with opposition fans.

It seems pretty clear to me much of the team was calling it in under Nuno. They clearly didn't believe in what he was doing and that was reflected on the pitch. I guess we'll see what the turnaround is like.

With Kane specifically, I don't think you can put it down to him just sulking, though. It doesn't explain his poor performances for England.

I'm on the wind up because I made a sarcy remark about Levy? Spurs fans do that all the time and no one bats an eyelid.

'Kane's main issue is that he want to LEAVE Spurs, not because of Nuno or Jose or any manager. His issue is with the club/chairmen and i don't think getting another top manager in, is going to change him wanting to leave the club'

That is what i said, what part of that is 'clearly on the wind up' ?

posted on 3/11/21

Jeez, you two are proper touchy

AFC - your comment was so nonsensical I assumed it must have been a cheap wind up. Here are the two comments you made...

"Kane's main issue is that he want to LEAVE Spurs, not because of Nuno or Jose or any manager. His issue is with the club/chairmen and i don't think getting another top manager in, is going to change him wanting to leave the club."

"It's basically the same thing, he's not winning the big trophies at Spurs anyway, whether Conte is there or not. Do you think he'll wait for 2-3 years, hoping Spurs come good? i can't see you lot challenging for much before that."

All I said was that he doesn't necessarily want to leave spurs, he just wants to win trophies but given Conte has now come in, that prospect has increased dramatically.

Both of your comments say Kane defo WANTS to leave regardless of any success Spurs have and that Conte isn't gonna win a thing anyway.

That to me screams opposition fan on a subtle wind up.

Yeah, they do that a lot “call it” on managers they don’t like. Probably why they have won anything for thirteen f*cking years

How the hell did u get to that conclusion?? Does Kane want to leave Spurs? Yes. Are Spurs likely to win a big trophy this or next year? Highly unlikely. I don't see how that is a wind up. Those are both facts , whether you get emotional about it, thats on you

How many more times, he only wanted to leave (past tense) as he wanted to win trophies. His idea scenario would always be, as a boyhood fan, to win those trophies with us. We've now hired a man best suited to achieve that dream with, I'm sure, assurances from the board that investment funds will be made available.

My point is that technically he doesn't want to leave, he just wants to win stuff and we're now more likely to do that than we were under Nuno.

I'm not saying he will or won't win trophies for us but when you factor in the Conference League and a QF place in the League Cup, then possibly the F.A Cup, I think it's possible for Conte to win maybe one domestic trophy and a European Trophy this season. Two cups when you've never won any? I think that might be enough to convince Harry to renew his contract. It might not be the Champions League or the League but it would be silverware. Couple that with a possible 4th place finish if United continue to stutter and it would be a remarkable season.

The two things you're completely ruling out - Kane staying and trophies - I don't think are beyond us.

The nature of 'no chance' style comment read like a wum. Apologies if that wasn't the intention but I stand by it.

Anyway, if your mob can win the F.A Cup under Arteta then our undoubtedly better squad can under a proven winner in Conte.

PS - Yes, that was me wumming. Don't you just irony.

Kane is either:

Still hoping for a January move to £ity

Still pist off with Levy and mentally not over it yet

Intentionally playing below par to try and force a move

Subconsciously playing poorly due to his mental state

Out of form due to playing in a poor team.

Who knows what the reason is, but the sports science people at Spurs will know if his levels of effort have dropped or if he is not running as far, or sprinting as often etc. Of course, it could all have been down to the managers instructions.

We will know fairly soon what Kane`s motivation is like under Conte, and he has not become a poor player overnight.

Kane will wake up under Conte.
ManCity have given up on Kane and are now after Haaland.

posted on 3/11/21

You can definitely blame Kane for his poor attitude and his failure to return to the club on time before finally giving in. His heart clearly hasn't been in it while taking home his weekly 200k

You might even agree with his reasons for doing so due to a loathing for your own clubs actions (we've all been there!) but it's still on Kane regardless. He made the choice to sign a long term deal, he knew exactly who he was dealing with and he didn't get a binding release clause, instead claiming there was a gentleman's agreement... With Levy FFS!

The 'Kane has downed tools' comments are extremely lazy in my opinion.

He's literally playing in the least creative side in the league, statistically. You can't expect him to work miracles.
