I’m not really convinced myself that he’s genuinely knocked back 3 clubs, and the only place I’ve read that is on here.

1, I can imagine slipping through the net-especially if it was a championship team.

so what difference would it make if I told you what they were? You would only pick which clubs you thought were realistic and as many have you have already said you don't believe that includes an EPL club. It's pointless.

If you think it works any other way in football your niave. Its perfectlly legal to pick up the phone to speak with your "friend" Stephen. Dave King had an informal talk with Gerrard before officially approaching him and Liverpool

Fulham and Sheffield United are the only 2 I can think of that maybe thought about him.

Im saying if you think that people get the permission of the club before testing the waters of any manager or player for that matter then your niave

Equally I know clubs tend to drop the hint unofficially and maybe have someone test the water, so no naivety from me.

Defending someone who has posted absolutely fwck all evidence on a "claim" I'd suggest is naive.

Although in fairness the EPL might have been in the process of or imminently crossing over to the Championship at the time from memory. I haven't said any more or less than that so if others want to start adding or removing things thats up to them.

Probably not too difficult to work out though from the manager profiles who have gone to the same clubs.

TBF Villa paying compo for Gerrard might suit Rangers if it helps them limp through to next year's financials without having to sell a player?
