How is it sour grapes? Do you realise how much money is involved? The FIA made a huge error and that sets a precedent. How can a brand the size of Merc, btw Ferrari and F1 are tiny brands in comparison, be sure the different racing standards be applied for 2022?
This is why previous appeals have ended up in court. Its not new.
Knowing this was for the Championship RD should have RED FLAGGED instead of safety car.
Let them both get whatever tires they had and restarted on the grid.
*That* would have given them laps in a fair fight to the end with DRS enabled.
That finish was *weak sauce*
McLaren driver Lando Norris said: "It was obviously made to be a fight. It was for the TV of course. It was for the result," Norris said.
"Whether or not it was fair, it was not up to me to decide."
This is what Max's best friend is saying. Pointed.

1. It's sour grapes
2. It will damage Mercs reputation
3. It will open the floodgates for every decision.
4. Sometimes it's better to just move on
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I completely disagree. FIA have feck up big time and they need to be made aware of it. Let's this one be a "mistake" and not becoming the norm. Otherwise it will set precedent and god forbid what they can come up with in the future.

Not sure if it still applies, but did you know Ferrari get more F1 money than anyone else, just because they are Ferrari? Merc are nothing to the FIA. F1 is Ferrari.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Only because they were one of the core who started the competition. Enzo Ferrari. Those days are long though. Hardly any team even buys their engines these days.

But he let only the cars between Hamilton and Verstappen go through, and not those between Verstappen and Carlos Sainz's Ferrari in third, or any others.
Norris said: "Sometimes they let you go, sometimes they don't. It's just 50-50 half the time. But they said that they're not going to let us past, so I was guessing that was a message to say they were just not going to let us past at all.
"To suddenly do it just for the final lap and for a one-lap shootout, I'm a bit surprised by."
- This is now tainted Championship. No fault of Max but it was done in his favour and thats how it will be remembered. Shame really. I think if Red bull were clever they would act as I suggested. But I bet they won't.

Going back 20 years or so, every team would have to PAY Ferrari every year. 🤣🤣

Their revenues are so small compared to other car companies that they actually need it.

One mistake? A beached Hamilton allowed to repass positions in Imola because the FIA decide to go back a lap? Silverstone? Jeddah? This year has been a catalogue of bad decisions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even more reason to not let this one go. Although mistakes were made in the past, at least coming to this race, both driver had a chance to win it. But doing this kind of "mistake", in the final lap of the final race is unforgivable.

Hamilton gets a lot of stick from some quarters but that's how it is when you're the GOAT.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also when you're British and great at something. We love finding something to hate our sporting high achievers for. Comes naturally to us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine my surprise to see the type of people on here who defend anything British, say immigrants are damaging English culture, get mad at vandalism of statues, are anti immigration, see themselves as ultimate patriots and the whole gammonish shabang but backing Max Verstappen and celebrating his victory.
On what grounds is it OK for a person like that to abandon their countryman I wonder. <cough> <cough>
Silverstone was racing incident as was Monza. You could have those debates like Prost vs Senna etc. Perfectly acceptable.
However this was the FIA. Its like the OP originally said. Bigger teams seem to get Ref decisions. Imagine if PGMOL officially said that bigger teams will get 50:50 decisions because they are playing for trophies. And different rules apply to all others.

It's only tainted to Hamilton fans. If Hamilton won I would say it's tainted because of Silverstone. 🤷♂️
And the same ideals can be applied to many years.
2008 Crashgate gave Hamilton the title
1998 Coulthard taking out Schumacher in Belgium (intentionally)
This list goes on, even James Hunt 1976.
======
You remember these because they are tainted, same as this year.
Just because there's been tainted seasons in the past doesn't mean its normal to be robbed.

Racing incidents, yes. But many disagreed with the FIAs punishment. Same with Jeddah.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Max was proven by telemetry data to have brake tested Lewis Hamilton. That has precedent to be black flagged in F1. Imagine if we were going into this round with Lewis only needing to finish second to win the Championship.

And I've never before seen a P2 driver hesitate to pass P1. Lewis ackting what is Max doing? Why? Just pass.
And again, that is due to Masi not doing his job properly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But there is no rule to force Lewis to pass Max.
Come back to the point. The sanctity of any sport are the rules. If the authorities seem to be bias there is NO sporting tournament and you might as well pack up and go home.
This is why what Masi did will forever cast a shadow.
It seems like Micheal can't or doesn't want to comprehend that this is not like his other examples and this is totally unique..with the FIA deciding who won..not a driver or a crash.
