Bruno Lage: "When our strikers didn't score, Saiss appeared. That's why they call him the Maldini of Morocco."
Five wins from safety
Not a bad position to be in with 16 players and still pre-Christmas
Yeah, it may not have been pretty sometimes but can't argue with the results given we have very little variety. Makes you wonder what he could do with some backing.
January can't come soon enough with players dropping like flies and the inevitable covid breakdown we will have soon enough.

I think Trincao has loads of potential and is only going to get better. His biggest problem is that we are not the most patient fans with young players and inconsistency. People forget that it took Neto a full season before he really established himself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Neto was from the start on a completely different (higher) level to Trincao.
Afcon may be postponed which from a selfish point of view helps us out

No he wasn't. He spent most of his time on the bench and everyone moaned he was too weak for the Premier League. He bulked up over the season and it was only really after the covid break that he started to establish himself in the starting line up. Before that he only started sporadically.
Every time I see Saiss score I wonder what he could be like in the number 10 role playing behind the striker(s). The reverse situation where we took Steven Ward, who was a striker when he arrived, and turned him into an international left back
Bruno after the game said - ‘When our forwards can’t score up comes Saiss. That’s why they call him the Maldini of Morocco’
Now being revealed that Brighton did request a postponement of yesterdays game because of the number of players they had absent, but it was rejected by the Premier League
Doesn't surprise me. It probably would have been accepted had it been one of the top six.
Bruno said after the game - ‘When our forwards can’t score, you would need to be on drugs to say they are one of the best front lines in the division"
For what it's worth, I thought Neto had something, not seeing anything special about Trincao. Hwang on the other hand is a definite buy.
Have to say Amiga that I would rather purchase Trincao than Hwang.
With Hwang those 4 goals he scored early on were very encouraging but even at that stage I wasn’t too impressed with his overall game. More recently he hasn’t been scoring and I don’t see his overall game improving. Hopefully we keep him for the rest of the season though and he may well persuade me.
Trincao is still raw, needs to bulk up, and probably isn’t ready to play every week. But I do see enough in his game to think he will turn into a good player.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has called for all pre Christmas games to be called off due to the problems all clubs are facing with covid and the rise in cases generally.
I wonder if the players have been holding Christmas parties prior to this week and that is why we are seeing these outbreaks within the clubs.
DJ you say that Hwang has not been scoring, which is true, but who has. By your reckoning Podence, Traore, Trincao, Silva and Jimenez should also be on the list as they are not scoring also.
Hwang is still the top scorer with Saiss and Jimenez joint second.
Good to see our club had everyone jabbed early on and we are now seeing the benefit of that.
Boris has just said we are not locking down. So expect us to lockdown in the next week or so.

Spangles I actually see a lot to Hwangs game I like. he is a very raw talent, but I have seen enough to see his potential. For the price and the fact he will have a fanatical following back home. His signing to me is a no brainer.
Trincao however has done little to impress me, and his price seems extortionate. I have no doubt which would be the better deal.
I'd sign both Trincao and Hwang to be honest. I'd also be looking to bring in a defender and midfielder over the next few transfer windows.
