The decisions today

The refereeing was truly awful basically. Hopefully both officials (onfield ref and VAR) are dumped from top flight football for a long while.

I think letting Kane's foul off kinda set the tone for what happened next and it was a truly pointless/stupid foul from Kane.

Spurs were playing brilliantly and were unlucky not to be out of sight in the first half so Kane's actions were extra stupid.

Kane has that in his locker to be fair, he’s done it before. Just gets carried away and makes a poor judgement.

And I do agree about that decision probably setting the tone for what came after.

Summed up quite well, but obviously all the post match talk is about how Pool have been robbed of 2 points, the Dele and Winks pens got little coverage despite us seeing the likes of Salah regularly given penalties for far far less.

The standard of refereeing is abysmal, see Pool v Villa the other week, a clear pen for Villa not given and then Salah given one for a dive. Newcastle not given a clear one v City today and robbed of another v Pool the other day. Then Ronaldo given one for a dive the other day, etc etc the list is endless.

Obviously Klopp will not be happy, but the amount of bad decisions going in Pool`s favour far far outweigh the ones that don`t. The same can not be said about Spurs.

Pens are always very subjective so I'm not gonna go there but Kane staying on the pitch and Liverpools 2nd being allowed make a complete mockery of VAR.

I'm very happy with a point because had Kane gone we would of definitely lost but that said whenever a hand is involved in the build up to a goal it never feels right regardless of this which phase of play crap.

Both teams got facked over by the ref but in terms of the final score not sending Kane off was the biggest error.

The referee made 3 major howlers in the game and VAR which was brought in to correct these was being run by D Levi

Red card for Kane - ignored by VAR - spurs favour
Jota pen - ignored by VAR - spurs favour
Robertson red card - intervention by VAR - spurs favour

On the balance of football played spurs deserved a point at least but we should and probably would have won if VAR was used correctly

All other incidents you mention VAR cannot and should not have got involved with

City the real winners here. Its going to take a mammoth effort to beat them to the title and despite the covid hit squad and everything going against us we should/could have still won

I like Conte, he showed you can play counter attacking football and not be toothless in attack like nuno and maureen were

When he gets his own players i can see you back in CL

Kane was awful but at least he was getting chances to miss but he's looked bad all season

Its shocking, our refs are bad at the best of times but ffs even by their own low standards theyve been taking the piiss over the last month or so.

Again two refs from manchester too. How would other teams feel if they had two refs from their historic rivals city and current rivals city every other week as we do. Especially making decisions like that today.

But theres worse refs like moss and twatkinson that do it to everyone. Just poor et rid of riley pay collina whatever it takes to sort our refs out.

I thought in real time and in the replays that Jota basically stopped running and bought the contact. Kane should have gone though, even if it was a bit late and reckless those types of challenges should always be reds in my opinion as you could easily break the guys leg

Could be numerous valid reasons he stops hes within right to also be it to shoot or make a smart turn. Its down to the defender to be smart and not clumsy imo. Especially in the box.

I know.
Don't think I've heard a more ridiculous reason for not giving a penalty.
The player stopped running?
Well, players stop running, then turn, then jump, then do all kinds of stuff.
Fecking laughable nonnsense.😅

Kane should’ve gone
Jota was a pen
Liverpool second goal shouldn’t have counted
Robertson was a red

I think the ref got them all right, really. Though Robertson was unfortunate to be sent off IMO. I don't see how watching the replay told him anything he didn't see first time.

Frankly that Ref got a lot of things wrong. He let countless pushes in the back go all through the match.
Kane was fortunate to stay on.
But no damned way could he let Robertson stay on.
And I would think Robertson was having a go at Royal on purpose as pay back.

PhilspursFGR:
Agree with every point you make.
But one thing..........
had Kane been sent off, as early in the match as it was, we would have had an entirely different game and many of your other points would be moot.
I.e., they would not have happened.

As they said on MOTD2, England captains don’t get sent off.

Was a terrible tackle.

Nonsense.
Had Robertson's tackle happened before Kane's, they would both have been sent off.
Kane's happened very early in the match, so the Ref let it go.
Would have spoilt the match otherwise.

Or just frustrated that the leg breaker Kane tackle only got a yellow

VAR is a shambles, but it's how it's used that's almost as bad. How on earth did the ref miss this??
