Semi Final v Arsenal. 3-1 to us. Gazza was a star that day. Smashed a 30 yard free kick then ran to the bench shouting "He tried to save it!!" 🤣

Then does this interview after

I have to many to remember, but I suppose my two favourites ever were both in the Double season, Sunderland at home in the 6th round replay, 68,000 (including myself) crammed into WHL, and Spurs winning 5-0, which convinced most of us that the Double was really on. Then the crowning glory the Final itself against Leicester, not a great game, but Spurs did what they had to win 2-0 and take the first Double of the 21st century.

Agreed ‘91 was brilliant particularly the semi-final. I think the ‘95 quarter final for me is just that little bit sweeter because I was surrounded by Liverpool fans and was more exposed to the banter around football than I was when we beat Arsenal. But yeah that semi-final win is also a brilliant memory.

School boys own stuff, Gazza’s free kick. Winning it that season was bitter sweet though because of the injury he got in the final - he was never quite the same afterwards - we were lucky though as he should have been sent off.

The final itself was an ordeal, everything went wrong. Gazza gets injured and has to go off, Pearce scores the resulting free kick. Then Lineker misses a penalty, we have a goal chalked off for offside. Finally Stewart equalised and then Des Walker scored the own goal - I aged a lot during that game

Also Ricky Villa’s goal, I wasn’t at that one but still remember it vividly, wonderful.

Beating QPR in 82 was again an ordeal rather than enjoyable - especially the first match

When we used to win it.

Spurs used to be the number one cup team back in the day. Not like the modern bunch of bottlers.

Typical Spurs game. Way too much drama. I didn't enjoy it after Gazza went off.

I’d have to agree with a few on here with the 3-1 v Arsenal ….I was about 12 at the time and just started properly supporting Tottenham that year as started to appreciate it more as understood everything by then

The free kick was a missile , I didn’t know he shouted that when he ran to the bench though 😂 (cheers luka!)

I never really got to appreciate Gazza other than that goal which is a shame ….I missed the final too playing cricket for my school

Not sure how old I was but one of my favourite players growing up was Nayim and I’m sure he got a hatrick in an fa cup game against Man City (I could be wrong) ….that game always stuck in my memory

The Liverpool game , Klinsmann winner was great too….all the kids I grew up with were Liverpool fans so it was made a very sweet result

He did, I think it was the following year, 5th round, we beat them 5-2 at their place, Nayim Hat trick, I remember Sedgeley scoring and doing a silly dance celebration.

That season was the start of a huge decline that we have only really started to recover from in the last 6 or so years

Yeah I’ve enjoyed finals we’ve lost more, the emotional toll of that game was just huge. It was one of those days where everything went against us - yet we prevailed, our current side wouldn’t

just because I was a young kid and the atmosphere was unreal, but beating Leeds 2-1 at the lane in a replay when Anderton and Ginola both scored absolute screamers at my end was great.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wp49CrgN_-A

goals on 1 18 and 2 50.

probably the day I fell in love with Ginola and he became my favourite player until Ledley became the boss.

I remember watching that game and going crazy at those goals

There were worldies 👍

Loved Ginola , didn’t he get goal of the season against Barnsley in a cup game? Left about 4-5 players on their arses

Same. Will have to be one of those semi final appearances under Poch or Redknapp.

Has anyone noticed when we reach an FA Cup SF we usually do quite well in the league? Both semis under Harry came when we finished top 4, and our 2 best league finishes under Poch we got to the semis.

Meanwhile any time we reach a League Cup final it's a finish outside the top 4.

the disappointment of losing the league cup final like we love to do probably has a bad effect on the rest of the campaign.
