We have the most points we have had at this stage of a prem season. Honestly give Bruno the keys to the city, guy is a genius, give him what he wants, anything.

Signings for a start!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't get me started on that today, we could be sat on 37-38 points by now with a full squad

A 2 goal win for Villa will put us 7th

The right full squad though, Cinci. Remember?

Just as I type that Man Utd take the lead

Meh! Another youngster by the look of it with verh little experience. Loan him out probably as he won't get a look in this season.

Yeah quite possibly

Cinci turning his nose up at the right players. No surprises there.

3 goals in 15 this season

Good win against a decent Southampton side. Took us a while to get the initiative but thankfully we are starting to turn attacks into goals.

Sa was superb today, Kilman excellent again and a more than decent debut for Gomes. Southampton packed midfield and held the advantage there. I thought Dendoncker played quite well but he ain’t no Neves. Semedo had a good game and Ait Nouri did ok although his distribution wasn’t always good. The front three battled hard but none of them were good at retaining possession. Podence tried back heels 5 times and every one of them went to the opposition, and it remains surprising to me that Trincao is Bruno’s first choice when so much breaks down around him. Think we should have made subs earlier but Traore and Fabio certainly made a difference the short time they were on.

Fantastic free kick from Ward Prowse, one of the best I have ever seen live and we did well to beat a team that were confident in possession. But so good to see us score 6 home goals in a week

Saw something earlier saying Trincao wins the ball back in advanced positions more than anyone. Add to that the fact he tracks and is positionally good is why he starts.

Not a great performance I thought but a very good result nonetheless. Sa kept us in the game in the first half and was far the busier keeper over the 90 minutes. Not seen any stats yet but I would imagine they had more possession too. But at last we converted chances and made the better ones too. If only Adama could finish with that composure every time, he'd be worth more than Grealish now. Gomes slotted in really well, kept it simple, looked good on the ball, very solid debut. Kilman had Redmond in his pocket all afternoon. Podence was busy without quite creating a much as we've come to expect. We have the ball away a lot on the first half but Southampton couldn't punish us for it.

And finally VAR was our friend, we needed it because the ref gave us absolutely nothing all game.

Yes Var was our friend today but it didn’t stop wolves fans chanting f*** Var because it’s such a spoiler for people attending the game. Long delay to make a decision and everyone in the stadium in the dark about the decision being reviewed. Never be convinced it’s good for the game.

Still 8th in the league but now 7 points clear of the teams in 11th. This first season for Bruno gets ever more impressive

The game we all love was being ruined by wrong refereeing decisions on a weekly basis, these have now been eliminated by VAR.

It all adds to the excitement for the armchair fans watching the slow motion replays and listening to the expert analysis whilst the decisions are being made. The money men don’t give a rats ass about people in the ground being in the dark. 👍

“I prepared a lot of things in the week. It was a very hard week.
“We prepared Leander as a centre-back, Max on the left and Luke Cundle as the number six. We prepared that solution and also prepared with Toti, and I preferred to go in that way.

We should have been all over Coutinho.

I thought it was a good performance, not our best , got train to Stafford and by chance found it’s not a bad plan to have a drink there before the game , a friend believes we are being offered players by Spurs to swop for Traore, and Dele Ali could be the right midfielder for us , good player but a bit sulky looking

posted on 15/1/22

Deli Ali and Son for Traore would be an excellent swap all round

Agree. Could be a good signing for Villa but I suspect it won’t be

He changed the game today so it is a good start but it takes more than that to be a success.

Corbeanu scored a cracker today from the edge of the box.
