We used to say lots of things about lots of our players. Look who played for us yesterday;
Sa, a cheap replacement for Patricio
Kilman, will never get a run in the team
Coady, an average championship midfielder
Gomes, on holiday from the grasshoppers
Semedo, not up to the pace of the English game
Moutinho, too old farm him out
Dendoncker, Dave Edwards mark 2
Ait Nouri, defensive liability
Trincao, maybe in the future but not now
Jimenez, never be as good after that injury
Podence, mister inconsistency
And the subs
Fabio, waste of £35m
Traore, very fast what’s the stats
Cundle, who?
How did we get to 8th in the Prem with that shower!

CAN'T YOU SEE WE ARE DESPERATE FOR SIGNINGS? GOD DAMMIT!
We really do have some good players don’t we, and coaches, compared to what I have seen seen over a large part of my Wolves football watching life it is a pleasure, but we are the fans and are entitled to raise concerns and criticise and want more and be better
But don’t forget to enjoy the here and now!
This place has become ridiculous now.

I'd maybe reserve judgment on Trincao and Hwang until the end of the season, both have had their moments but I think Hwang has impacted games more. Of the two I'd be more inclined to sign him but Trincao is undoubtedly very talented and might be worth a gamble too as he could potentially develop in top player in time. Need to be a lot more consistent though and needs to apply his talent in better ways ie in the opposition box.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that what we used to say about Neto ?
and some others.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes to a degree but I thought from the start that Neto was a dangerous attacking player he just needed to be more involved and not drift out of games as much. With Trincao he needs to be more dangerous in and around the box, use his undoubted skills to unlock defences rather than beat three guys in the middle of the field and lay a pass back off Moutinho.
Just read that Traore's goal yesterday was the first in the league this season from him, Podence or Trincao. Three forward players who have amassed 49 appliances between them. Crazy that from three very talented footballers. I think we're starting to see signs though that the goals are starting to come.
49 appliances 🤣. Appearances obviously, they haven't been ram raiding Curry's.
Bottom of the table looks interesting, odds must be on 3 of Watford, Burnley, Newcastle and Norwich to go down and looking at the points totals it could be that 30 rather than 40 points could be enough to ensure survival this season.
Trincao leads the league this season in nutmegs.
Can’t help feeling Newcastle will buy enough better players to see them survive, although it would be a larf if they didn’t.
A good friend of mine is a Norwich season ticket holder and he is amazed that they got only 10 points from their first 20 games yet could still stay up

This is why I am sceptical about moving to a 442 or 4231 formation with the players currently at the club. Just means we can play one more player that doesn’t score many. In theory more chances can be created with those formations but I’m still not convinced that players that have never scored many will suddenly start doing so.
We have a very successful defensive set up and before giving that up we need to be convinced we have the players to score more at the other end

And interceptions in the opposition half i believe
To be fair to Trincao, he did drive forward with the ball against Southampton, and laid it off in more forward positions. Still plenty of room for improvement, but at least he tried to take the game to the opposition.
I’d like us to sign Trincao but I think there are other players that can contribute more in the short term. It is exciting to think of the young players we have that could form the basis of Wolves team in the not too distant future
Moulden
Kilman, Mosquera, Gomes
Hoever, Jordao, Cundle, Ait Nouri
Chiquinho, Silva, Trincao
Don't see that side happening, but who knows.

I’m not saying that will be our team in 2 or 3 years time but in my mind we do have a team full of possibilities of players that could be first team players in the future. If half of them did progress to that level then it would have been a great investment and save the club tens of millions in transfer fees. And other players will emerge in the coming years. Gomes wouldn’t have been on my list 3 days ago
Cup tie against Norwich now confirmed to be 15:00 on Saturday Feb 5th
I'd be surprised if Gomes gets into double figures for appearances for Wolves. Did a good job and can fill in, but I don't think he will be seen as the future. They are a maximising his value for a future sale now.
Would love to be proved wrong though.
Can't believe that Bruno would pick someone, when there was other options, for the reason of maximizing their value.
I don't think that is why he picked him.
Maximising his value is just a bonus of him being able to fill in for a short period.
