I actually think a lot of the country don't really give a damn about parties or whatever (not me personally).

People see that we're coming out of this pandemic with a fast growing economy, sky high vaccination rates and doing better than most countries in the northern hemisphere.

Lots of Tory voters don't think we'd be in the same place with Labour who wanted to push for tighter restrictions like we've seen in Europe recently.

Just my opinion, not necessarily my belief.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not to mention the 150,000 deaths, the highest in Europe, and the sixth highest in the world, the one thing you will never hear Johnson mention. It's the most important fact. Not high vaccinations, that he mentions 24/7.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually we had fewer deaths with covid than Italy and Belgium per million, stop regurgitating inaccurate BBC facts. And you realise that not all of these deaths were caused by covid.

The way some of you go on you would think that Boris had set up a death squad to roam the country arbitrarily killing people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

LOL. another non believer that does not believer official figures given by the medical, scientific, hospitals, etc.

Honestly are some people that thick to think the BBC make up official figures on deaths from Covid.

GunaDave is one of those dopes I was alluding to earlier.

Stop talking about deaths per million, they mean SFA. The only total that anybody should be looking at is the total deaths. It`s like saying a plane crashed and killed 350 on a 500 seater aircraft was not as bad as a plane that killed 10 on a 12 seater plane. It`s made up spin.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What tosh, all I'm saying is that you can spin figures any way you like and it's really irrelevant how many died and what caused their death. Everybody has to die at some point and a lot of the dead would have died from 'old age' anyway.

Ask my 90 year old mum, it's not really living.

There seems to be an absence of competence in politicians in general these days on both sides of the box. The calibre of MP's in the top jobs is probably the worst it's ever been. All I can say is the Tories or Labour and their sea of divisive rotters don't speak for me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I understand why you would call boris a ‘rotter’ but still please may I ask why you think that of starker and Labour. It really keeps me up at night. I just cannot understand people who think that this government is better than Labour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Labour don't represent me so I can't vote for them. Same with the Tories. Starmer seems too soft for me and appears to struggle running his own party let alone the country. I wish I was apolitical if it weren't for the fact that you can't get away from it these days.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your response but still may I ask why labour doesn’t represent you?

The tories don’t represent me because I work in the public sector and believe that it should be fully funded to provide the support this country needs with regard to police, fire service and nhs. This government have decimated it to such an extent in the last ten years that there are now, at times an 8 hour wait for an ambulance. My family are around 7 thousand pounds a year poorer due to Tory pay cuts to the public sector, at the same time they have seen a 16% payrise in their own wages.

Labour continue to promise to reverse these cuts. That’s why I have to support them.

What about you ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So not ideology, pure self-interest, and you believe that Labour will deliver on these promises.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve always been Labour, totally believe in the ideology but as my family have suffered under tories, I have to support the party that will make my childrens lives better.

Don’t see how that makes me selfish?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It doesn't, just saying!

If you look at the wording at the start of every death toll notice it says died from any reason within 28 days of having a positive covid test, so test positive on the first of the month, be mildly ill for a week, on the 27th get run over and killed your cause of death will be recorded on that list as a covid death

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not per capita though is it. There are 12 EEA countries with higher death tolls per capita than here.

There are also very different testing regimes so a direct comparison of numbers is a little daft and you should know better.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Stop trying to justify 150,000 dying under a Johnson led Government. It's a shockingly scandalous total for an Island nation. Certainly far and away the worse of any island nation in the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a pandemic, people die during a pandemic and have in every single country in the world. There are 30 countries in the world with a higher death rate than here and that doesn't take into account the vulnerability and age of the population.

This is a sensible debate and you're just ruining it with stupid comments.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just for Alisson

https://www.statista.com/statistics/1093256/novel-coronavirus-2019ncov-deaths-worldwide-by-country

Just six countries USA, Brazil, India, Russia, Mexico and Peru have a higher death toll, and not the 30 countries that Alisson is saying.

So I have helped him out a bit, with the link.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Give up with you sandy.

People might actually take you seriously on this forum if you properly engaged in debate. You know exactly what I and anybody with a brain is saying about using 150,000 deaths in absolute terms but decide to be a khunt about it.

Fack you.

I'm using official figures. You are trying to dispute them with nonsense and spin. It's you that is the khunt, and I hope you are ashamed for disputing all those poor people died from Covid. Shame on you. I bet you wouldn't dispute it with their loved ones, who are still mourning them.
