We should have stuck out for £25m but I guess we will save money on wages and baby oil!

Shares in the company that supplies our corner flags just dropped 26%.

If he goes I wish him well, but not too much as it is Spurs, who generally I can't be doing with.

Is he really intended as a wing-back? If so, I think they have done another "Docherty". Hope not for his sake.

Wouldn't mind, however, if he did a nose dive and we signed him back next January for £10m

Traore to Tottenham latest
Talks are progressing between Tottenham and Wolves over a deal for Adama Traore.

As of this evening, no agreement has been signed off but negotiations are ongoing.

Personal terms are not expected to be a problem.

Good luck to him. Not sure of Conte's plan but talk of him being a wing back sounds like it will be a disaster.

Will miss his exciting cameos but as a team I think we lose very little here to be honest and would much rather have the 20 million and hope we invest it well instead of having him warm our bench all the time.

In an attacking sense, I think wing back would be Traore's best position. He doesn't need to move too much off the ball, just hold the width. He can pick the ball up out wide in deeper positions and run at people, in an area where it becomes more difficult to double up on him.

From a defensive point of view though, it could be a disaster. He isn't really one to have a great defensive work rate (the amount of times he sits on the floor after losing the ball seeming to take an age to get to his feet). He isn't really one to press either and when Nuno played him there a few times, he took quite a few unnecessary risks in his own half. It will be interesting to see if Conte can transform him defensively.

The guy got me on the edge of my seat so will miss him
Will be disappointed if we don’t spent the money on that midfielder we need
Looking forward to tomorrow manage to bag a ticket, nice pubs in Kew before

Lage warns against the team dropping their levels at Brentford: "I remember games against Crystal Palace and Norwich it was not such a good performance. The challenge is to play with personality, but with more consistency. The team is doing a good answer."

From today's press conference via Spiers. I highly approve.

Agree with you. Such a unique and exciting talent and like when Jota left I feel he’s a player that we haven’t got the best from and there is probably plenty more to come. Looks like Chiquinho is signed as his direct replacement in the squad so we wait to see what he can bring. But hopefully the money received for Traore will lead to us doing more to strengthen the squad

It isn't about spending money though, it is about spending it wisely, any club can sign players but you need to stop thinking once we get money in we can just go and spend it unwisely, it has to be wisely. If it isn't wisely then what have we done, yep, we have spent it unwisely like you and others want. That isn't the way to do things. Wise or nothing.

Bruno Lage confirms:

- Wolves unlikely to sign a CB this month
- Toti Gomes and Chiquinho to stay for the season
- Sanderson could go back out on loan
- Boly back on the grass (but not team training yet) #wwfc

You have to wonder what is going on with Boly? I can only imagine it is long Covid. If it is I doubt he will ever recover proper match fitness.

If CInci is correct and he’s “back on the grass” there is no chance he’ll recover proper match fitness unfortunately 🪴

Strange to think that todays game represents the last premier league game for wolves until Feb 10th. Winter break next week, cup game against Norwich the week after. By Feb 10 we will have Saiss back and be close to having Neto, Mosquera, Hwang, Jonny back in action plus hopefully Boly and maybe even a new signing. Be like the start of a new season. Hope we can sign off with another good result today

Traore on the bench, Jimenez out with a knock. Be interesting to see how Fabio performs

Looking forward to seeing Podence and Silver up front together. They have already shown signs of an interesting partnership. Let's hope it develops and produces goals today.

Seems as if Bruno has gone 3:5:2 to match Brentford's setup

Surprised at the change of set up today but a decent line up. Rooting for Silva to bag a goal.

Everton lose again. Unlikely I know but would be quite good to see Everton, Leeds and Newcastle go down.

Everton are a mess, not sure why so bad really.
