But that's the contradiction. If the view is that we shouldn't pick him because he might not be any good for a while. But then the view is also that he will need games to get up to speed, where do you go from there.

I've been watching Wolves for many years and I think Jonny is one of the best we have ever had in that position. So I would like to see him given the chance to get back to where he was

Look forward to Sunday. Best stadium in the country I think. And fond memories of my only visit there just before the lockdown when we won with a great goal by Raul. Jota scored one and made two that day. Be great to see Raul get back on the mark there and for someone, anyone, to look as good as Jota alongside him

Jonny has had two major injuries on the same knee in a short period. Unfortunately, there is a fair chance he may never get back to the level he was previously at.

Given the shambles of Weds night..... I'd take a draw now..... I will officially lose hope if Bentancur doesn't start

I read that Jonny was asked if he wanted to play for the U23's, which would make sense due his long lay off. We have the cover on the left, so a run out next Friday against Middlesbro' would probably benefit him better.

If Coady is rested, we could go with Kilman, Saiss and Toti or even Hoever, Saiss and Kilman. What will be missed is his influence. I'm sure Bruno has played with options on the training ground.

Bet all our Portuguese stars will be tuned in to BT tonight at 8 to watch the clash between the top two teams in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, Porto v Sporting Lisbon. Porto haven’t lost a league match all season and are 6 points ahead of Sporting so a win tonight would probably clinch another title for them.

Vitinha v Goncalves, a clash of the two that got away. Should be worth a watch.

Thought Jonny was great but i would be disappointed if he takes Ait-Nouri's place this season. If younger blood is the policy then we have to let some of them play through the season to gain the experience and form they need.

Ait-Nouri for Jonny would be no different to Kilman for Boly and nobody would do that surely. You gotta let some of these young guns play.

Still disappointed we didn't sign Vitinha, he would have made a huge difference and is exactly what we need. Alas it seems like he didn't want to come.

I don't blame him for not wanting to come. Rarely used and when he was he was mostly played out of position in a negative system. We didn't really sell it to him here.

Not a patch on Derek Parkin.

If we see the misery of Hojbjerg and Winks again then expect more of the same, you can bet Wolves saw how Saints pressed our poor midfield and had a load of joy.

The difference between Wolves and Saints is that Saints press, create chances and put the ball in the net. We press, create chances and then mess about with it whilst no-one takes responsibility for scoring a goal. We have the most toothless forward line in the league so we will be relying on Spurs defensive errors creating own goals.

Only a few months ago Spangles was telling us we surely have one of the best front lines in the division? Seemed quite ridiculous at the time, but utterly laughable now. 😂😂

A front 3 of Jimenez, Traore and Neto all at the top of their game would be right up there with Salah. Mane and Jota.
Sadly, Traore is history, Jimenez a shadow of his former self and with Neto only time will tell.
But right now we have a forward line comparable to Burnley or Norwich

Unfortunately Goncalves is out with a muscle injury, but Vinagre is on the bench.

Real turn up on the cards in Portugal with Sporting outplaying Porto in their own backyard and leading 2-0 after half an hour

posted on 11/2/22

2-1 to Sporting at the break where a great game has turned into a succession of mass brawls. Should make for an exciting second half where I’ll be amazed if there’s 22 players on the pitch at the end with Pepe a hot favourite for an early bath

posted on 11/2/22

Don't see anything other than another defeat here unfortunately. Spurs won't lose three in a row, Conte will give them the rocket after the other day and they will certainly score with their firepower. So a draw is our best hope here.

Vinagre not getting much game time at all.

Sounds like 5 or 6 red cards at the end of the portuguese game

Big game in Portugal ended 2-2. One sent off early on in the second half then a remarkable end to the game when Pepe had the chance to head into an empty net to win it for Porto but a head high clearance got the ball and Pepe’s head to save the game. Cue a shameful mass brawl involving every player, all the back room staff from the bench of both teams and some stewards. No idea how many were sent off in that melee but not less than four including Pepe. More WWE than football but entertaining

Mir scored again. Another that didn't want to stay with us. Bit of a theme that.

He would have stayed if he had been given game time. We should have kept him and spent the £35million Silva fee on a creative midfielder.

I was told that the senior Fosun bosses questioned that deal and we haven’t spent big since
