Would be interesting to know who really did orchestrate that move. Can't imagine Nuno was keen on splashing 35 million on a kid when funds were clearly tight elsewhere. Not bashing Mendes because without him we wouldn't be where we are but you have to think he was key to it.

Jorge sells an ethos of growth through developing young talent for profit to a Chinese conglomerate. Jorge entices a reasonably talented youngster in to his agency signs him up in return for 5% of any future transfer fees. Jorge negotiates a 35m buyout clause in his contract. Jorge rings his mate gullible Jeff, hey Jeff there's a young guy here at Sporting who's going to be a world superstar , we can get him now for 35m, trust me he'll be worth 3 times that in 5 years time. Jorge does the deal, Jorge pockets 1.75 big ones. Nice work Jorge.

Funny cos its true

Agree with Cinci in that without Jorge Mendes we wouldn’t be were we are now.

No need for the pi55 taking oldgold. It’s not Jorge’s fault that nobody at the club performed proper due diligence before sanctioning the transfer. I suspect a simple conversation with Nuno would have done the job.

And so my prediction is coming true.
£35 mill, ha ha ha.
We will be lucky to 3.5 mill.

2-0 tomorrow, again I hope I'm wrong.

For the money we spent on Fabio and Hoever we could have partnered Neves and Moutinho with Bruno Fernandes

Reading that Wolves have not offered a new contract to Moutinho because they feel it’s time to move on with a new look.

Just watched a little of the Winter Olympics. Ice Hockey quarter final between Japan and Finland played in front of an almost empty stadium. Very sad. If that was played in the uk there would be a full house. No reason why we couldn’t host the Winter Olympics, not as though they have real snow in Beijing

Makes our lack of investment in the midfield over the last few seasons look even more silly.

We still haven't heard anything about Saiss' contract.

I wouldn't really want us to host the winter Olympics as it would like have a net negative economical and ecological impact. I read previously that it takes 49 million gallons of water to create the snow for the alpine events. Its energy intensive, damages the soil and causes erosion. Not to mention the impact on wildlife.

I imagine some events are empty because not many people are travelling because of Covid reasons. Not necessarily because of where it is held. Even so, I'd prefer it not to be held in Beijing because they don't get real snow. I don't believe in this 'everyone should have a chance to host' stuff they have around Olympics and international tournaments.

Really they should just host them in countries that have the infrastructure in place already. Winter Olympics in nations where they see lots of snow. Football tournaments in countries with adequate stadiums and travel etc. Otherwise, as we have seen with many poorer nations that host these events; the negatives resulting from it tend to outweigh the positives.

How are your lot in possession?

The reason I ask is that I haven't seen alot of Wolves this season but I've seen plenty of Spurs (not surprisingly) and we can't keep hold of the ball for love nor money.

We can be effective on the break but other than that we are playing atrociously. It's primitive long wall rubbish but with Winks and Hojbjerg in midfield that's as Good as it gets.

We play like the away side in virtually every home game.

Too many backhanders when it comes to voting on where the Olympics and World Cup are held.

Qatar hosting a WC. Really?

Wolves 1 up at the break. The goal came from something I’d like to see the first team do more with the right sided wing back getting to the bye line and his cross turned in by the left sided wing back

I like the look of Lembikisa. Playing what looks like a right sided wing back. Have to say Roberts looks like beaker from the muppets. Just about edged the first half, I think.

2-0 Roberts tap in after good work again down the right from Birtwhistle.

Crikey, Fraser could have had 4 or 5 easy chances. I guess is the curse of #9.

Great run from Roberts who gets the 3rd.
