Knew something about his race would pop up and it is 1 million percent irrelevant to anything.

I think everyone should ignore people like you who aim to bring things like race into everything when that has less than nothing to do with the topic at hand.
You're exactly the sort of person i was talking about.
Please stop race baiting, honestly, its disgusting.
I like Pogba. He provides the skill and entertainment United fans should expect from their team.
However, and the fault lies with both him and the rest of the team, he's not been part of a really successful team which is why people will always be critical. He's not helped himself but the club hasn't helped him either by having players around him who'd allow him to thrive.
Basically I'm saying a bit of it is his fault and a bit of it is the club's fault.
Judging by how we've done over the last decade though it's probably unfair to judge individual players within that group.
People with Pogba have literally been saying "he can be this if "xyz" happens since the day he arrived. It been 6 years of disappointment. It's dangerously close to theo walcott levels of "He has potential" his whole career only to do nothing with it.

Take away the season where he was penalty taker in chief he is a 5 goal a season player. Same as mctominay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What about other metrics? Chance creation for example. Same as McTominay?
I think the problem is that you are a bit too worried about whether he is worth £90m compared to Fred's £50m. Which is pretty stupid, because the club's decision to value him at £90m is taken based other factors on top of what he is expected to deliver on the pitch. If you want to start talking about whether Pogba at £90m is a bigger waste of money than Fred at £50m, you may as well start bringing shirt sales and Instagram followers into the debate.
Simple fact is Pogba has comfortably outperformed him on the pitch. Comfortably.

This is a good point. As a business we'll probably consider things like 'marketability' when considering a transfer and the fee too.

knowing nothing about your upbringing, i couldn't possibly say.
Pogs has little control over his transfer cost but are we allowed to acknowledge that he reputedly paid 240% of Fred's salary or 1350% of McTominay's?

no, because united's quoted salaries include not just win bonuses etc but also a player's image rights (which the club, unlike most clubs, like to be in control of, so pay the player for the privilege). so unless you can tell me what pogba's image rights are worth vs those of mctominay or fred, then it isn't a direct comparison.
You’d expect a vastly superior player to be paid that much more.

true, but i'd optimistically/naively assume that he has been worth a lot more to us in terms of marketing than either of the other two.
i'd even guess that, as much as some people hate him, he's still more marketable than greenwood, but you never know, there does seem to be a market out there for everything, especially on the united board.
Yeah that’s a good reason we probably won’t get rid of both of Pogba and Ronaldo this summer. Even if we probably should.
Pogba's qualities would make him an an asset to any club.
