Bit of a rude awakening for the U23s being 2 down after a quarter of the game when it looked like an easy game on paper. But they haven’t got going at all. Bumpy pitch and wind hasn’t helped but same for both teams

I get the cost/worth debate, but its not just his value to potential suitors, it's what's his value to us/finding a replacement - getting someone in as young and with the potential would cost us more than £10m.... maybe if he had a Portuguese sounding name he'd get more respect put on his name

I have no idea how much MGW would be to any club wishing to buy him. All I did was post his value at around 8m from transfermkt, who are generally very accurate.

Yet some rate him at 10m which may be the case. Not provocative at all bombolino, just my opinion. What players have done in the past is quite irrelevant, it's what any club is willing to pay for them now that matters.

A players value will fluctuate as he progresses through each season. Some will go up and some will go down. Just because MGW was an International player in his younger days, doesn't necessarily put any extra value on him at present. He didn't make it at Wolves, which is why he dropped to the level he's at now. He's doing well at the moment and I hope he continues in that vein.

Remember our 100m player?

It's what MGW is doing now, that will determine whether Sheffield United buy him, or he returns to us.

Amiga my man, in your as always humble opinion, how do you find a value for a player? does past performance come into it?

Sheffield United would not be able to afford him as a championship team. But they are looking like play off contenders and if promoted that changes everything

and if it doesn't then you'd imagine other clubs will have taken note of said progress

I'm not flip flopping at all. I said a players value will depend on a seasons performance. That's why it goes up and down. It doesn't go on a reputation or whether or not the player was a junior International from a few years ago.

If you think MGW will go for 20m, then you need to see a specialist. If he's worth that, what price is Neves?
