FOREST v LIVERPOOL - FA CUP Match Thread

I expect the Liverpool team to be half and half. Plenty who are top level prem; but a few who are average level prem. (I.e. about same level as Garner and Worrall).

What matters more is their attitude. If they think they can get away with being at about 75%, or underestimate how good we can be as a team they could have problems.

My big worry is the ref. They won’t appreciate Championship level physicality and will get at the ref. Re f needs to be good and strong. Don’t want another elite ref like Moss. We’d have no chance.

Hope everyone remembers how to behave this afternoon.

Forest are on a journey. After today’s match they will be no nearer or further away from their final destination.

I've lived in Nottingham for 20+ years and bar Utd I've never met a set of fans who hate us as much as Forest and I include Everton in that.

It's honestly bizarre at times. I could go into some if the stuff but I won't here.

Nice touch by the CLUB with the 97 seats, however.

Maybe it goes back to the 70’s/80’s when the attitude by some of the Liverpool supporters towards Forest was extremely nasty and out of order - let’s be honest, you don’t have the whitest of white supporters do you

None of us do

Just saying how it is.

Got thrown put of the Cross Keys and nearly. Hiding for simply wearing a Liverpool top. Cross Keys ffs, it's not like I had just bopped into the Waterside or Embankment singing YNWA.

I think we both know what it's all about too.

Had a ticket for today too but turned it down and gave it to a Forest fan. Tbf that was simply because it was the right thing to do.

Actually going to watch it in Forest Fields with a load of Reds. Not sure how this will go!

Would love Forest to come up FWIW. Do wonders for the city.

I’m clearly one of the odd ones out here and have had stick for it in the past (but I don’t care) but I love both teams! I can’t believe it’s been nearly 23 years since they’ve played each other competitively, far too long! Obviously extremely excited about this game and think it will be a great spectacle. Both teams have big(ger) fish to fry and like other Forest fans I’m definitely hoping Forest can ensure this fixture will be repeated at least twice come next season.

Having said that, despite LFC being clear favourites, Klopp and his side cannot take Forest lightly or underestimate them, Forest and their fans will be up for this.

More chance of LFC going on to lift the trophy but whoever wins this game, I hope wins the competition

Well said Father

Absolutely hit the nail on the head

Let’s just hope it’s a great spectacle for all

Yes FOREST. I kind of agree with what Robbing Hoody says about the ‘hatred’ from some of the fan base, I’ve heard plenty of it myself although I personally don’t understand it. Maybe it stretches back to the competitive era between the sides in the 70’s/ 80’s?

Hoping there’ll be respect and no trouble today

As I say 1 Father - I’m sure it works both ways - please don’t try to imply it’s all one way or only instigated by Forest supporters - because we all know that’s not totally true

Anyway, enough of this tit-for-tat, who said what blah blah blah

There’s an important game at hand, and I’m sure it’ll be a good ‘un

So I have always hated Liverpool , I mean we could have had 2 successive Division 1 titles 1977/78 & 78/79
& been in 2 successive FA Cup finals 1987/88 & 1988/1989.
I think I only hate Tottenham & Anderlect more for depriving me of football memories.

The caveat is I went to Uni at Liverpool and did post graduate training there , so that has had soften my heart a bit.

I too dislike Liverpool…for my own personal reasons, not really to be shared on here…but make no mistake, I really don’t like them along with the likes of Derby, Leicester, Spurs…

However, I DO like Klopp and what he stands for and how he conducts himself - he’s a genuinely decent and honest person

I also totally respect Liverpool as a team and what they’ve achieved in football - probably the most successful Club Britain have ever produced - their record speaks for itself, and the team they’ve assembled under Klopp over the past few years it brilliant

But I still dislike them as a whole…and that dislike goes back to 1977

I'm yet to meet a Liverpool fan that gives a flying fvck about Forest so yes, it is one way.

Some of us remember a pair of pool fullbacks kicking a Forest winger off the pitch. If they couldn't win by fair means then foul would do just nicely. Now I remember Larry Lloyd standing on the heels of Kenny Dalglish's boots as he tried to spin away, however Brian never sent his teams out with instructions to cripple one of their opponents.

Have you ever been to a Forest v Liverpool game? 😂

Come on now…be honest

You either haven’t, or you’re about 25 years old and just weren’t ever a part of the Liverpool/Forest history of the 70’s & 80’s

https://youtu.be/ivajdI-BqPI

Yeah, Liverpool obviously don’t care about Forest

If you go to Liverpool and you wore a Forest shirt no-one would care. True story.

This is Forest all over though. STILL banging on about the 70's

It was half a century ago lads.

I had access to a season ticket when Calderwood missed out on the play offs in league one. Went about 15 times that season. Clough this, 70's that, two stars blah blah.

What a result for Palace, 4-0

It’s what Clubs are built on matey…it’s called having a History….you should all about that, you have one of the best in the world

Nothing wrong about banging on about such magical days

If you don’t get it, why do Liverpool insist of wearing 6 little stars in their shirt?

Forest is a grand club, I am very fond of them. Proper football city and family outfit. I also love this city, my daughter was born here, most of my friends are from here, my home is here.

But if you say you support Liverpool... wow. They're off!

Result: QPR 1-3 Peterborough.
We're one point behind QPR with two games in hand.
Bonus: Derby are bottom!!!

I can’t stand Man U and Derby, the Rams probably moreso.

On my life if I had tickets to the game, I’d be wearing my Forest shirt and my LFC hat. Wouldn’t care what anyone thinks or says
