changed* Anyway that is why it is impossible to win trophies with a keeper who usually saves less than the opposition keeper in nearly every cup competiton game he plays.
SAF once said it would be wrong to have a squad of players the same age who all age together and peak at the same time. He suggested having a group with different age groups was best as it’s easier to replace one or two than the whole group at the same time.
So going by that wise logic we should try and make sure all age groups are catered for rather than trying to have a group of under 25s. Yes there’s a place for some great young signings but we also need some ‘ready to step in’ older players around the 28-30 mark who can do the heavy work while some of the younger players are inconsistent.
Whether it’s Ten Hag or Poch I’m sure they’ll want that too. What Ten Hag did with Ajax in terms of age is fairly irrelevant as he will need some older players who understand the assignment so to speak.
Yeah we’ve been really lacking in that area with the age profile of the players. It’s something that needs addressing, we’ve been badly lacking the right amount of players between the age of 25-30, and many of the ones we have had are shiiiiiiit anyway.

I think this WAS our transfer plans with Ole, with the plan for the squad to reach it's peak age as Liverpool & City's declined and Pep/Klopp potentially left.

I don’t think it was, he wouldn’t have brought in Ronaldo and Varane, and spoken about challenging this season, it that were the case.

In Ole’s defence I highly doubt Ronakdi’s signing was his idea.
Just caught up with the thread.
Am I right in thinking that the general consensus is that Utd should buy good players who work hard in order to progress?

Given that he could hardly find time to breathe due to having Ronaldo’s diiiiick in his mouth, I highly doubt it’s a signing he wasn’t massively in favour of.
