Type of player City go for just because
Will be interesting to come back to this thread when Phillips moves to Utd in a year or two
Everyone is looking to push for Europe ‘next season’
Everton we’re looking to push for Europe, look where they are. West Ham we’re getting into the champions league before Xmas, nailed on apparently. Now they will be lucky to get the conference.
Zero chance Phillips goes to either

Yeah when ten hag comes in and turns it all around, just like Van Gaal, Mourinho, ole, radnick etc etc
TalkSPORT saying West Ham want £150m for Rice, yet £50-60m for Phillips is silly money. I wish they’d get rid of transfer fees and cut out the agents.
I’m giving you a reason why he’d go to those clubs and why they’d want him. People are acting like we are talking about KDB leaving City or something.

He’s overrated and seemingly a crock. I too can see him going to the likes of Villa, West Ham or Everton. That’s if he left, I reckon he will stay at Leeds for another season.

So overrated he was Englands player of the year and such a crock he played just about every minute during the Championships, after no break from the premier league
Well if he was England’s player of the year that just backs up how overrated he is. Fair enough if this is his first injury hit season, I haven’t been following his career which is why I said seemingly

100% wouldn’t rule it out at all
But dont rule out Liverpool cos of the fee especially as they are going to have another successful season with regards to incoming money ….don’t rule them out either just cos of who they have….Henderson is on the decline and Thiago hasn’t worked
City , doesn’t matter who they have! As proved with grealish signing ! They didn’t need him but they have shown they sign players to stop them joining others
Chelsea will have new owners who will want to flex some muscle but think they will sign Rice
In all honesty both You guys and Tottenham could do with him ….who gets 4th has the best chance at Phillips
I’d love him at Tottenham
Good point about United and Alan smith though , forgot about him , so maybe United on that reasoning
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thiago has worked when fit, to be fair. He's quite often one of our better players. I guarantee I watch more of him than you considering I'm a Liverpool fan...
But he's also 30, Henderson is 31, Milner is 65 so it wouldn't be a bad thing to think about signing another midfielder.

Only overrated by those who don't watch him regularly. Yep this season he's had a bad injury, loads of players get them from time to time. Given his position and the role he plays, I'd argue he's remarkably resilient.
Whether he leaves I think will hinge more on which we're in next season. Wouldn't begrudge him moving on if we went down. Just not over the pennines please.

He is sligtly injury prone
Injured his knee several times and shoulder once in the championship season and always picks up a red card during the season. Agree again that he'll stay at Leeds another season but no chance he joins W Ham or Villa.
He does seem to get injured at least once a season. This has been the first majorly long term one, though.
Because of the relegation clause on Raph being so low, we will still ask for a bundle for Kalv if we go down.

Played his first matches for us is 2015, has been red carded three times in six seasons. No Gary Linekar certainly but equally he's not Xhaka either.
If he wants to be a regular his options in England will be.
Leeds
Villa
West Ham (If they sell Rice)
Arsenal
At Liverpool i could see him signing if they shifted AOC or City in place of Fernandinho.
Chelsea and United i doubt he would bother, being a Leeds fan especially with things in flux at both.

Bellingham will be 100m+ though.
Seems out of Liverpool's range. Plus cashing in on Keita and Ox will be lucky if it gets you 20m with both in their final season.
