One is a miserable torn ar-se,the other is ....the exact same.
Absolutely correct, the man is a bit auld fashioned but he was a giid giid fitbaw manager was Jim McLean
flangie
there is absolutely no comparison
you really need to try and get over it, walter is a scottish footballing legend, just accept it. the sooner the better for you
I did feel sorry for wee Jim when he had his very public meltdown on the BBC. Fantastic manager in his day though. Stein, Ferguson and Smith are often talked about but McLean and his brilliant achievements always seem to be forgotten about.
Nay doot, there are clubs lining up to take advantage of Walter's legendary skills as a manager....
Parks a Hamilton are favs to land him
i dont think anyone would disagree wee jim was an excellent manager, but to compare him with what walter went on to acheive is just plain silly.
never took you as an abba fan, hof.
hof
just loves dancing queen
in a jack n victor kinda way
"but to compare him with what walter went on to acheive is just plain silly."......................
How is it silly? You're chucking stuff out there but backing it up with nothing at all.
Compare size of clubs, compare expectations, compare transfer money, compare European achivements. I;m sorry but wee Jim eclipsed Walter Smith given all of the above.
Money aint everythin, look at chelsea, still cant win the champ league.
Plus, if its aw bout money, why havent uz won the league for last 3 year?
I would say Jim was better as Watty needed millions upon millions to do it. The Rangers team cost more thhan ours still.
1. Gordon Strachan managed to throw away 20 points fae Jan to May
2.Shocking referee decisions in decisive OF games favouring one team
3. Young and inexperienced team that just missed out despite winning the BIG matches...
Am so glad everyone took on board my point about Smith, success and how money relates...
Laffavic
In the last 3 years,Rangers have spent from £35-40million and if you don't believe me look carefully...
£25-£30million* ma bad folks
Titanic
Only old firms that really meant anything last year were the last one, which would have sealed a title win, n the cup final. U won neither
well walter seems to win things with money
and well he seems to win things with out money too
kinda proves you need something else apart from money
Your strike force of Lafferty, Miller and Jelavic was £10million alone.
3. Young and inexperienced team that just missed out despite winning the BIG matches...

You actually believe the myth that Smith had NO money in his 2nd spell at Ibrox?
Your strike force of Lafferty, Miller and Jelavic was £10million alone.
and yet timothy thought walter was mental paying £4m for jello
miller left at the most crucial point in the season because we couldnt afford to keep him, timothy said we were so skint, not now apparantly we wurny skint at all
isnt big lafferty meant to be a donkey, a tim telt me he was
cmon guys walter is a legend, you didnt take advatage, not walters fault, its the wee war mongers fault
