Lol. The Azov battalion is extremely small and was formed because of Russian aggression in 2014. Anyone can join as almost like a freedom fighting group of people. Sometimes very bad people join that who are nationalist which are pretty much the only ones who will lay their lives down for their country in the face of aggression.

It's very easy to do a Robb and dismiss things as it doesn't suit his narrative. Or he simply doesn't understand that how things worlmin the world are not the same as how they work in say Australia or UK etc
The bigger picture in places like Ukraine is that Azov type organisations exist in many forms. They are instrumental in how things get done.
These maybe "small" organisations on the face of it but have huge influence. And having small organisations running simultaneously with similar agendas makes it easier to shift blame or bury the truth.
Ukraine has form for this with Azov, aydar battalion, dnipri 1 etc.
When these "small" battallions get caught doing nasty things and committing war crimes they look to have been disbanded. When in actuality the GOP boys get absorbed into the political system and the soldiers get reorganised as a new battalion.

Ever since I was born I've witnessed some sort of turmoil where everything wasn't as it seemed. My father as a child had to run from his home with his family
As a child I witnessed first hand the Russian attacks in Afghanistan and what it did to the people of Afghanistan. Many a refugee "caravan" stayed near me and I made temporary friends with many of the kids.
I've lost relatives in most countries seeing turmoil, including in Syria where they just disappeared never to be heard from.
My written responses are not as eloquent as yours but I've been seeing this chit for 50+ years and the response of people p1sse off at times more than what's happening.

A reliable source is a reliable source. If Twitter is the platform being used by a reliable source it doesn’t undermine their credibility. There’s a reason so many professionals use it.
Miyagi doh, I'm sorry if you've seen some terrible things in your life, and particularly if that has rendered you desensitised to the butchery and wild grief unleashed by Russian war crimes in Ukraine.
If you're genuinely concerned about state-sponsored fascism and up for further reading, I can recommend the following topics:
Wagner Group
Rusich unit
Dmitry Utkin
Aleksandr Dugin
Ivan Ilyin

Not desensitised. Just don't buy into the b/s that gets presented.
War is horrible. No matter who is right or wrong the people on the ground suffer. Usually those with the least.
I am aware of the Wagner group and the rusich unit. These operate in exactly the same way as azov, aidar and dnipri 1 in Ukraine.
Presented as volunteer units and separate but in reality part of the military. But easily disregarded when it's all over and seen as a bad but separate entity.
Tbh I'm Currently surprised by events in Pakistan. I think ultimately this is more about the Russian situation than about Pakistan. A sort of pawns being moved and put into place.

It's amazing how many of these groups/battalions go through this in Ukraine name the words "careful selection of soldiers" and reorganisation has happened since 2014/15

How wonderfully patronising. Judging my your comments on this I may as well go to my Labrador for better insight than reading your words

Lol. The Azov battalion is extremely small and was formed because of Russian aggression in 2014. Anyone can join as almost like a freedom fighting group of people. Sometimes very bad people join that who are nationalist which are pretty much the only ones who will lay their lives down for their country in the face of aggression.

A bit like a tooled up UKIP then?

Miyagi doh, do you have a long-standing interest in the former USSR and Ukraine? Do you speak Russian or Ukrainian, and have you been reading the work of academics who specialise in politics, sociology, international relations of the region? Have you been taking a close interest in the complex and rapidly shifting currents within Ukrainian society over the last decade? Maybe the answer to all of the above is yes. But from everything you've written so far I get the impression of someone who has cherry picked talking points from the 'anti-imperialist' info-bubble, that you tend to look through at the world through the singular lens of Western foreign policy crimes, and you don't personally have any emotional investment in the region.
As someone who has friends with family in occupied territory, and also many friends in Russia, the last six weeks have been a waking nightmare. Knowing the suffering of Ukrainians. The senseless deaths of Russian kids getting sent in as cannon fodder. And the utter cynicism of Russian state lies and fabrications - accompanied by rhetoric that demonises Ukrainians as sub-human fascists. I therefore struggle to express the depth of my moral repulsion at those who amplify Putin's propaganda while stating, in passing, that of course they don't support the invasion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ever since I was born I've witnessed some sort of turmoil where everything wasn't as it seemed.

Ivan Ilyin

Twitter as a platform makes it easy to sift through the crap and pick out good, credible material at speed!

It's very easy to work out whose views to trust and whose is pure BS.
