Believer.

I am cool with a new Ireland down the road, as a loyalist for over 4 decades and lover of Donegal and Cork.β€οΈπŸ˜‰

The whole brexit debate has been a bollox, but boris, Brussels, dup, SF and Dublin are all Muppets in their own right, and solutions will come from the ordinary people who get on and live in peace.

I read recently that NI's economy is outperforming the UK as a whole, sounds like as an economic arrangement it's doing OK and not something you'd want to break for political reasons

Sorted.

Scotland is just part of England too ...or northern Britain.

Ukraine is just part of Russia and Croatia just part of Yugoslavia etc.

Give Texas back too lol

If only Scots had not come to Ireland, Timmy, and vice versa lol

It's not anyone's to give back. Northern Ireland can only join the Republic of Ireland if the majority of the electorate vote for it. And the secretary of state can only call a border poll when it appears likely that the majority would vote for departition. As it stands only about a 1/3rd would vote for a united Ireland and that number drops when higher taxes and no NHS/paying for health care is thrown in to the mix

Bernadette in Malone and Paddy in Antrim road panic at the thought of unity, as does Billy in Taughmonagh-Malone and Betty in White City-Antrim Rd.

That's not to mention the referendum they would have in the RoI. Is Conor from Cork willing to pay higher Taxes so Sean from Strabane, who already considers himself Irish, has an Irish passport, drivies an Irish reg Car and pops over to Lifford to fill up the tank, can pay his mortgage off in Euro rather than Sterling

Hi mate.

I was only here to have a sarcastic crack at Boris, tbf

I’m glad you boys have found the opportunity to share opinions though, and I always learn a little bit more about the situation and/or history of events in NI when I tune in to follow the conversation, so thanks for that

I have always worked and married and studied and drank with great people from Celtic, Catholic and Irish nationalist backgrounds, who are no fans of the dup, but happy enough in NI and UK.

They’d be transferable at the UK rate and payable by the UK via the Republic most likely, no?

I’ll receive a full UK state pension for the years I worked in the UK courtesy of the exchequer when I retire in Portugal, for example. And I’d have thought it’d be the same if NI were to join the Republic.

Or have I missed something?

Think it's just going to be a statement TBAB as the government know full well unilaterally disapplying elements of the NIP will be met with 'rebalancing' from the EU.

Essentially threatening to invoke a16 without doing so.
