Read bits. Seems like it was a pretty toxic relationship, both caused issues however Heard comes across far worse. It's interesting because since this all came out Depp's career has basically been finished while film studios have had no real issue hiring Heard and it seems to boiled down to the idea that a woman could never be the aggressive/violent one in a relationship so Deep must be the one in the wrong which is so stupid.
But like the football forum I do think people are trying to make this far too black and white.

Herd definitely appears to be a narcissist and narcissists are full on caaaaants
Her testimony and defence team have been Depp's biggest success in this trial. They've been awful and clearly desperate.
I don't like how Heard has been allowed to commit perjury either by telling the court her profession is an actress.
The coverage of this demeans us all
they aren't as bad as each other
The trial as shown JD as a very flawed person with a lot of negatives that is associated with the rock n roll lifestyle. Despite his flaws it is very evident he is good to the people around him
AH on the otherhand portrayed herself as the victim of domestic abuse. When at the very kindest, she was equally abusive. Tbh ,there are counter evidence to show JD is not the abuser but the victim of her abuse.
my take is that she ruined his image/career with false claims. We currently live in a society that let certain women get away with things like this. This trial is not only important for JD to clear his name but for these type of women to know that there are consequences for making false claims
I'm afraid I'm far too high-minded to take an interest in this sort of thing. Also pretty preoccupied right now by the Vardy vs Rooney 'Wagatha Christie' case.
"The trial as shown JD as a very flawed person with a lot of negatives that is associated with the rock n roll lifestyle. Despite his flaws it is very evident he is good to the people around him"
What does that mean? Surely as long as his lifestyle doesn't hurt others (which you say it doesn't) then what's wrong with a 'rock n roll lifestyle'? Enjoying alcohol and drugs doesn't make you a flawed person or negative. I saw some photos of him passed out and a table with a bunch of drugs on it, most people have done that in their lifetime, it's all pretty normal.
I've seen bits of it. Was just this morning watching the clip where Heard said she's donated the divorce payment to charity, but after a grilling by the lawyer it turns out she had only actually said she would do it, and had not actually paid it. She actually tried to say that pledging to make a donation and actually making the donation were the same thing

I think I agree fully or at least mostly with your first two paragraphs.
Where I'd maybe disagree is in your last paragraph. To the best of my knowledge, it's pretty well understood that most claims by women of abuse are legitimate. False & vexatious claims by women against men tend to be fairly rare. What makes this case so interesting is that, were it not televised for public consumption, I think most would by default accept the allegations/insinuations against Depp by Heard. However, on this occasion we actually get to see with our own eyes the person claiming they were/are the victim of domestic abuse. And we can see something is not right with her in her presentation & demeanor. We can see she exhibits many of the telltale signs of lying/misdirection and we can see the gaping great holes in her "evidence" under cross examination. Presumably this is exactly why Depp wanted it televised/able to be broadcast, because sometimes it needs to be seen to be believed.
Heard is a classic narcissist dialed up to 11. Taking a dump on a bed and blaming the dog after earlier saying it was a prank gone badly wrong🤮
She's a lousy actress and that comes across in court with her over acting to everything and crying despite shedding no tears. Latched onto a very famous man for her own ends.
Depp is no saint by any means and the whole relationship was toxic. He's been cancelled and his name in ruins whilst she's clinging on with her talons still.

There's texts where he admits he headbutted her and texts between her and (I think) agent from all the way back in 2014 where she talks about how sorry Depp is for kicking her and he promises to do better.
I also don't really agree with this whole "he's been cancelled" thing. His acting career has slowly gone down the pan the last few years because he's largely been in dud films and he's getting on quite a bit.
Both sides of the relationship were likely a drink/drug fuelled train wreck.
I wouldn't mind a drink\drug fuelled one night stand with Amber though, as long as she didn't need a dump. She has that crazy magic that leads to an amazing night in the sack.

On texts about kicking, I've not seen or read anything about them, but remember if they exist they are only allegations, not evidence.
On the headbutt... Depp's version of events was that Heard was hitting him repeatedly and that in his attempts to restrain her, they collided heads. I accept that "it was an accident, guv", is a bit of a go-to claim, of course, and one that we shouldn't take at face value. However it seems a few other things are true; Heard produced photos of black eyes & a bloodied lip as evidence, except black eyes & a bloodied lip are not consistent with a clash of foreheads. Maybe if she'd broken her nose you get black eyes, but she had no damage to the nose, which suggests a clash of foreheads (deliberate or accidental). There's audio from the aftermath in which Depp says they clashed foreheads. So the injuries Heard claims she received from that event very likely are not true, which casts a dark cloud over her claims altogether.
And we've since seen that time after time, injuries she claims to have received are simply not evident in any photos.
The text to Heard's Dad doesn't say that he headbutted her. He's apologising for things escalating in their fights more generally, but as far as I'm aware, there's no reference in the texts to a headbutt.
I had to Google her to find out who she is. Not a great fan of Depp either to be fair.
This really shouldn’t be a news story and the trial seems to be going on for ages.
Its always very black and white in the media with this sort of thing, villain and a hero.
He is this charming hero, who just likes to drink and take some drugs, because he has had such a tortured life.
She is a a gold digger who was only after him for his money, and lies about every single thing to get more money/fame.
In reality, they were both probably abusive to each other, when they realised her looks wasn't enough to make him happy, and his money wasn't enough for her. Now they're both desperate to reignite their careers, and looks like Johnny Depp has achieved this whatever the jury verdict is, he will be back making big movies again.

Normally I'd agree, but this seems a fairly remarkable case; in the post #MeToo era, a high profile person who claims to be a victim of domestic abuse (I too had no idea who she was prior to all this), appears to be at the very least an abuser herself, and quite possibly lying completely, or at the very least massively overstating the extent of her own victimhood whilst minimising her own conduct. And were this not available to view freely, she'd probably get away with her claims in the public eye, tarnishing her ex-husband's reputation indefinitely.

From watching this trial and reading around it. There is a recording of him saying he headbutted her... he glosses over this in the trial, stating he accidentally headbutted her in self defence or something.
He is also clearly drunk/drugged up in various audio recordings where he comes across as verbally abusive at least.
She comes across as a narcissistic, and he definately comes across better in the court room. But then he is a far better actor, with far more expensive lawyers, so its hard to judge.
