I thought a manager that’s not even arrived yet being in there would make that clear.
Although Moyes does deserve a lot of credit for longevity, and the fact that several higher thought of managers have spent more than him since he left Everton and none have done as well as he did. Plus how he’s doing with West Ham too. His spell with us is a big dark period though

1. Klopp - already comptetes with a City team which cost a billion, with a squad costing half that and unbelievably costing £150m net. Tactically, I love it, get the players fired up, keep possession, press high, high line and get the ball forward at pace. Outstanding man manager who improves players. Turned a young midfielder into one of the best right backs in the world, a relegated left back into one of the best etc.
2. Guardiola - I dislike the tactics but they're extremely effective and it drains the life out of the opposition. Intelligent and I like his snappy remarks when he gets asked a stupid question.
3. Ferguson - also a great man manager but in a different way, old style where players listen and don't dare step out of line. Had a lot of luck with the youth that came through all at once but gelled it together excellently with experience.
4. Wenger - top when it comes to developing players and picking young players up for cheap. Many clubs followed suit until this didn't work anymore as everyone was doing it. One of the most exciting teams of the PL era.
5. Mourinho - good man manager in a similar way to Ferguson but this probably doesn't work as well anymore. Defensive but when he has top teams, extremely difficult to beat and control possession against. The master of creating an everyone versus us mentality in the players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
SAF had luck with the youth because he restructured the youth setup when he came in.

Is that the criteria in the OP?
Don't be a genius.
And also, you have to factor the low bar standard that Wenger said, when he said those infamous words.
‘We deserve a Trophy for 4th spot’
Lost a bit of respect for the man that day. And now it’s spun into our football culture like it’s some sort of achievement.
Ranieri needs to be up there, maybe 6th, just based on the +500000 title win with Leicester.
1. Fergie - the best, did it at Aberdeen and then at United and adapted over generations.
2. Klopp - Great style, ability to build and win the biggest trophies in a time when City should win everything by a distance.
3. Pep - Changed football with the stuff his side produced at Barca. Hasn't done it without the best squad though which goes against him.
4. Mourinho - done it with money and without, awful style of play and tends to leave a trail of destruction behind him.
5. Wenger - achieved great things with Arsenal but fell short in Europe, his sides played incredible football at times.
What SAF did at Man Utd now looks miraculous.😂
Just to put it into perspective in SAF last 7 seasons in charge Man Utd averaged I believe 86.5 points per season. Hard to believe really as if we got a season we hit 87 points after SAF it would be incredible but to average that non-stop for 7 years is insane.
Actually meant last 8 seasons and was meaning end of 05/06 season 7 years. I remember it was 2005 to his last season in 2013. Crazy when you think of it now.
If ETH can get one season on 87 points at Man Utd and we win the league it would make him look a genius but SAF was doing it like every year.😂
I also got sky around that period so watched most of that SAF period in the premierleague. What was always consistent was we battered teams non-stop and when we had an off day we had a top class keeper and top class forward to bail us out. Nowadays we are weak in both these positions and no surprise we are struggling.
Or on the rare occasion we lost, you knew a response was coming the next game.
Why do intelligent fans hold a fake narrative that Pep has unlimited funds?
If City has unlimited funds, then why are Newcastle constrained from spending more seeing that their owners are wealthier?

Give it time. They'll follow the City blueprint.
They need to register shell companies and get their fellow corrupt friends and businesses streamlined before the doping commences.

They haven't mastered the art of fabricating hundreds of millions of pounds worth of sponsorship deals out of thin air to circumvent FFP like City have. Newcastle may be richer but City are smarter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Signing any deal means City is earning their money. Something many of you like to spew about. A company is willing to pay it and it's signed off as market value by the PL & UEFA.
Regardless, whether the deals are dodgy or not, City's expenditure is limited to their annual revenue (similar to Liverpool's in recent years).. And we have more revenue from player sales and prize money than most clubs in the past five years.
If any of you have any proof of City spending outside of their earnings, then the PL 8 would be willing to pay handsomely to get their hands on such evidence.
