Well yes, but the chance came from a batsman taking risks and playing an expansive shot, Leach is not looking like taking a wicket otherwise

I swear Sky constantly go on about how our slip fielders are too close together yet we never seem to do anything about it.

Not a huge lot in the surface for him, it's the morning of day 2

Great decision to bowl first, wonder how Stokes came to that decision, then again dropping catches doesn't help

Latham said he'd have bowled first too so it's just a shame that we won the toss

It was definitely bat first though, the talk was a bit of green bit very dry underneath. Spin should come into play later and Leach is a much better 4th innings bowler. If our bats can score runs on this pitch though then sadly some of them have got to go.

Could have been a different game had Root not dropped a simple chance when Mitchell was on 1. Would have had them like 170 odd for 5 with our tails up. Instead they're now 480 for 5 so they'll probably bat in for a couple of hours and breeze up to 600 and then stick us in with an hour to go where we will lose Crawley, Lees, Pope and Bairstow as Southee, Boult, Jamieson and Henry get the ball to talk.

Bracewell will be made to look like a right armed Vettori too as we follow on before tea tomorrow

It is remarkable that Root has only been given 3 overs considering Leach has been given a rough time although fair play to Stokes for showing the confidence to stick with him. Root probably would have rotated the seamers into the dirt, there is no way he would have bowled over 30 overs in the first innings.
