As predicted Goldson couldn't even get a team on a free despite having had a great run in Europe and costing his team very few goals.
Absolutely delighted to see the big haddie have to accept that he's not as good as he thinks he is.

Given the states of MU probably. That is not the point, re-signing a free agent does not come for free however the fees are split between player, agent(s) and club(s). And you do realise that the original quoted £3m would not all go to Brighton?
Happy to see Goldson re-sign assuming he's actually committed to the club. I felt his levels dropped massively towards the start of last season like his mind was already elsewhere. He picked up again the last few months which I had assumed meant he already knew his next destination. I suspect this ends any hope Katic had of getting back into the team.
What Goldson desperately needs is competition for his place and I'm sure Souttar will provide that.
Now at least we have four CBs. Goldson, Souttar, Bassey and a half each for Balogun and Helander.
Souttar was by far Hearts best outfield player in the cup final so very glad we've got him in, especially for heehaw.
Arfield and Davis are still going to be very useful for the squad and for certain games. I'd imagine Davis especially will be used less and make more subs appearances. Arfield might make more starts.
I think it's a priority we sell Bassey if we can get a good enough fee for him. Potentially he could fund several quality players. Cash in while the stock is high.
A good start to business anyway.

Makes sense to prioritise keeping your better players first then looking to add - both clubs are in the early stages of trying to keep their better players. Obviously if we both stand still it’s advantage Celtic but I suspect both will look for new additions too - then we’ll see

I don’t think Rangers will do much business until the CL qualifiers are done. Keeping the main players will at least give us a decent chance but if Bassey gets a good bid then it could buy several good players.
