It really is bad if the best is Appleby.
Don't like him.

It is bad UT, I reckon he's the best of a bad bunch, much better than "Sports Direct Derby County"

Might have been Paul Downton who was selected over Taylor for a while. I remember being outraged anyway.

Good to be corrected about Hall. I had an idea he was earlier and yes, Roberts was another great. Windies produced so many great bowlers over the years that it's difficult to place them all time-wise.

Just seen two outrageous shots from Madsen. He should put a patent on them!

IIRC, 'he couldn't quite get his leg-over...'

It has always puzzled me as to when we won the league the first time under Sir Brian, we played West Ham in the Charity Shield. When we won the league the second time, there was no Charity Shield played for.
It may be for some silly reason, but I can't find anything, can someone enlighten me as the first time was my only visit to the old Wembley.
Or did it happen and my age wont let me remember.

Uncle Tom that is 75 charity shield that you remember. We did not compete in first one in 72, because we had already committed to tour Europe for preseason. The 72 charity shield was competed by Manchester City (4th) and Aston villa (3rd division champions).
