I consider myself pretty lucky to have become an adult in the mid-90s and enjoyed the pre and post tech era (with/without mobiles etc) of the time. The bonus was my football team was pretty damn good then as well and you could have fun without worrying too much about things.

Present is the best for me.
Id much rather be a youth of today than a youth of when I was younger.
and if its a question of living in that era as the age you are of now, People forget how far we have come since even the 90's

True, petrol at almost £2 a litre
The rise of the food bank
Brexit
NHS on its knees
The worst set of politicians in living memory (thatcher aside)
Etc etc etc

You forgot huge student loans and the prospect of never owning your own home. Oh, and Covid scrwing up your education.
F*** being young now.
1990’s. Pre smartphones, although still a decent amount of technology around to keep you occupied and the current woke gen would have been laughed into the bin. Wish we could go back.

Must be the most depressing time to be a youth at the minute, surely?
I would love to be in my early 20’s during the 60’s for the music
The 90’s, high school, uni, and a few spent mostly at in bars/clubs in Houston or just down I45 on the beach on the Gulf of Mexico
The MSN days were the best. Even the fit girls were on it.

dunno its what you make it .... the freedom to do whatever you want and not as afraid to be who wanna be rather than only be popular if you fall into the right crowd or are the correct stereotype.
far more power now than any kid ever had in my youth. more income, more luxuries as standard.

is this another Sandy account?
90s was great where racism was higher, suicide rates were higher, unemployment was higher, you had to rewind anything you wanted to watch with a pencil, quality of PL football was painful, excessive hospital wait times etc.
I think previously I would've said right now. Old people moan about technology but inventions are popular because they're good. They make our lives easier or more fun. But a global pandemic can fack right off. Global warming needs to chill out n all.
Late 80’s early 90’s.
Like has already been mentioned, enough tech to keep you occupied. Less of the politically correct nonsense.

All people are really saying is that life was better when they were younger, with the exception of the last few pandemic years, it almost always rings true.

Ignoring the old scrote arguments for a minute, growing up now with climate change becoming a real concern along with overpopulation (pandemics, housing prices etc) isn't ideal.
I do think we'll figure it out but the world has a lot of growing to do to make sure we don't fack it all up.

One thing about being in school in the 80s though was that we were always told about the threat of nuclear disaster. It was talking about the Cold War of course but the fact there was a nuclear reactor five miles away played a bit on our minds too. We were told by teachers it'd be targeted in a war!

Meh, some did, some didn't, I bet it's much the same now. Willing to concede my ignorance, but I bet there's still plenty of knuckle draggers picking on the 'weirdos' despite how much people moan about how 'woke' everything is.....in fact probably because of it.

Yeah I think in general it was always better when you were younger but since the pandemic things seem tougher globally.
