Saw the title and knew it was you

I won't mind being dead though. Don't necessarily enjoy life. Anyway I'll take it as it comes.

Why does this not surprise me?

You could probably extend your life cycle by being less grumpy.

As for being arrogant towards City and Liverpool fans, I'm afraid that ship has sailed.

I don't know your ages, sauf VC,
but you can't all be under forty
_____

Being a little kind to VC there...

Not too bothered about dying myself, it'll happen to us all, I just try to enjoy life day to day and hope that when it does happen it'll be quick.

Would prefer it happens when I'm somewhat older though so it doesn't leave too much grief behind.

As for me, I’m in good health (as far as I know), about to change jobs in September (in a well known tourist hotspot in North Wales that you should be aware of 52), holiday booked for a big birthday next year in the Caribbean with the family. Looking to buy a classic car for my enjoyment in retirement (not too far away, and no, not at 70 or 65).
After that, plans to travel with my beautiful wife of nearly 20 years.
Also looking forward to United being a truly top team again in my lifetime, so we can stick it to Liverpool and City fans again (got to happen, surely).

Here’s to a good few more years 52. From reading your past posts, it sounds like you’ve lived a good and interesting life, always a pleasure to read your posts of yonder years.

I hope all ur health is good mu52.

I care more about being around for my kids than anything. I’ve still hopefully got a long time ahead of me but any personal fears about dying while alleviate when the nippers get auld.

Brilliant Cymru, nobody knows our life span, but it's a good idea to plan as if a 100 is normal.
Wales, so underrated, or at least north Wales is.

What do you remember about the Aberfan disaster mu52?

posted on 13/7/22

I'm 44 MU52 and am looking forward to the road trip with Babyen and you!

Death doesn't worry me really. I just don't want it to be painful. My biggest fear at the moment is seeing other people dying. I'm no religious either so I appreciate this is the only life I'll get.

I also probably know the hotspot Babyen talks of! In fact may well have been there today!

One criticism of this article though. Did it really have to appear above an article asking where Eriksen is!

For those who have read I was 21 on the day England won the World Cup, a calculator will tell you I will be 77 in a couple of weeks.
Yes, I remember Aberfan clearly. Lord Robens? Took the blame.
Truly it wasn't his fault, it was the mine engineers, but hey ho, somebody had to take the blame.
It was a catastrophe, still rembered.

Having recently reached 50, I do feel way past my prime and have become a grumpy b....rd of late. Still not quite ready for the grim reaper, I hope

I’m 42, had my age 40 check up a little while ago, well overdue because of the Covid backlog. All good, low cholesterol, low MI/stroke risk etc, am as fit and sporty as I was ten years ago more or less so can’t complain on the health front.

I’ve personally never had any fear of death itself, as a concept - I believe when you die you die, your light goes out and that’s it. No afterlife or anything else, to me that’s all nonsense, it’s no different to a pet budgie snuffing it. The actual act of death itself - I don’t see the sense in fearing that either, it could be cancer, a plane crash, who knows, the only thing that’s certain is one day it’ll come but no point worrying about it. My attitude is just enjoy yourself while you’re here, I read a thing that said in reality almost every single person is all but completely forgotten within 3 generations of their death, and it’s true. Nobody visits my great grandads grave anymore or even really knew who he was.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Think that’s an Egyptian belief right? You die twice, once when you actually die and once when your name is last spoken.
