As for me, I’m in good health (as far as I know), about to change jobs in September (in a well known tourist hotspot in North Wales that you should be aware of 52), holiday booked for a big birthday next year in the Caribbean with the family. Looking to buy a classic car for my enjoyment in retirement (not too far away, and no, not at 70 or 65).
After that, plans to travel with my beautiful wife of nearly 20 years.
Also looking forward to United being a truly top team again in my lifetime, so we can stick it to Liverpool and City fans again (got to happen, surely).

Please don’t say Rhyll!

They’re both nice spots, but you need full body armour to go to Rhyll. Had several holidays there as a kid when it was pretty popular, but time hasn’t been kind to it….

The best way of limiting drinking in the eve is to tire yourself out during the day. Have done some big hill days with early starts this week and struggling to finish a couple of beers. Win win tactic/solution.

Exercise solves pretty much everything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

After a long walk, I’d be thinking that I definitely deserve a drink. The main thing that makes me drink quickly, and therefore drink more, is talking to people, so I have mainly stopped doing that now.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I reckon drinking is the same as eating. When you have done a big exercise day, you will want and need to eat more. Same applies for exercise. You'll need to drink more. But if you can't move then you can't drink. But I shall go down to the hotel bar and see if that guy from last night still wants to fight everyone.

I’ve got no particular fear of dying, as long as it’s not painfully (or too soon). But I hate, hate, hate getting older - literally everything about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't hate getting old as it clearly brings new experiences/perspectives (watching your children/grandchildren blossom) etc but would i like again to be physically as fit as a fiddle back in my 20's (i'm now 54) , race my 1100cc Suzuki again with no fear (100mph wheelies an'all that jazz!), be able to play 90mins of footy at 40yrs old against good young Spaniards while we lived in Spain then hell yeah!

The worst thing in life is regret. Living life limits the regrets

As for the dying malarkey, my only ‘fear’ of it is knowing that you’re going to miss out on what’s coming in the future, be it what your kids do or just general advancement.

I guess the only way this isn’t an issue and I could die peacefully is if the world ended

One thing I do struggle to get my head around is the concept of that ‘blackness’, the switching off of your consciousness so to speak. I’m not religious at all, but the idea that you simply cease to exist kind of seems inconceivable.

It’s the same with the concept that the universe is infinite, on one hand it seems impossible because our mind tells us everything has to have a beginning and an end, but then that is also impossible because there has to be something else after the end of the universe. It’s all mind blowing stuff!

It's amazing the mental image you have of people you only communicate with online.

I had 52 down as being in his mid 80's and Admin being a fitness fanatic.

Terminator we can’t as a species comprehend all reality as we are limited fundamentally. Most things in this universe we do not know and will never know everything.

One thing is for sure, I don’t want to be a slave or a cog in this system forever. Need to escape it. Can’t live such a limited basic life where you are not free. I need to be free from all financial constraints and limitations. It’s imperative
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m afraid you were born around 300 years too late to stand any chance of that.

Do you ever think we have more senses than 5 but we just don't know how to use certain parts of our brain to unlock them?

Pretty much word for word how I feel. The lack of comprehension does in itself make it a bit frightening imo though

I was thinking about this many years ago, after having an operation - one of the nearest experiences to death you can have, I suppose. There’s a weird feeling when you come round, that actually you’ve been ‘coming around’ for a while but there are only the faintest echoes of what that felt like, and you can’t get back to the nothingness before it.

Saw the title and knew it was you

I won't mind being dead though. Don't necessarily enjoy life. Anyway I'll take it as it comes.

That’s quite sad.

It really is. Life is a gift, enjoy every day.

My dad had just about everything wrong with him, chronic asthma made him retire by 55, High blood pressure kicked in, Diabetes, four heart attacks and eventually esophagus cancer finished him off at the ripe old age of 67.

I am 47 next month. Personally alcohol fecked my liver and can't drink any longer, it hasn't impacted me physically as yet that I can tell. I was a party monster for far far too long, even three years ago hitting NYC monthly for 15+ hour sessions. Alas those days are over.

Not as fit as I was but still very mobile and spend hours every day out in the wilderness walking canyons, washes etc in hot harsh weather. Cycle a bit and have a mountain I go up nearby, nothing heavy but a good challenge and kick the ball about over the park lately on a nice little artificial pitch. Shed 20 lbs lately after hitting 200(14 stone 4) around xmas, an all time high, now at 180 or just under 13 stone.
