I think United getting eriksen is the best signing outside our business
As the aim is top 4 for me (being realistic) I’m worried about United / Chelsea
Arsenal still need a proper striker but if they get one they could be a threat too
United will be back this season and they worry me the most
They just needed a proper manager and they have one
To be fair I think Jesus has the potential to be an incredible signing for arsenal. Their strikers have been fairly average for a while now and I think he's well above average. That said you can't guarantee he will be able to reproduce what he does for city elsewhere.
United haven't done too much of note I'd say. Eriksen is good but I don't think he's transformative. They've still got mostly rubbish defenders even if this new one smashes it. A lot rests on how well martial Sancho and rashford do. If they somehow sort themselves out then United could be a shoe in for 3rd.
Chelsea have done some decent business but you'd have to say it's mostly like for like so far so have they really improved?
Tottenham have done quite well but the only stand out signing imo is bissouma. The others strengthen the squad more than the team but that is obviously very important too.
Will be an interesting race between the 4 of you for 3rd and 4th

Of all your point which mostly just speculative, the last statement in which your point is implicit, I agree with the most.
Which is that City and Liverpool are not in that mix. The rest are out there fighting it out.
Only City worry me in that I can't see how their levels are supposed to drop when they have just bought Haaland, and if their levels aren't dropping then it's unlikely anyone is going to compete with them for the title.
As far as United, Arsenal and Chelsea, I'm not really worried. It's all a bit of an unknown with them. They might do really well with what they've done, or they might not. It's ourselves that should be the worry to fans of those teams and above.

A tinge of nostalgia when you said that?
Can Eriksen improve Utd to the point they can push on from last year's dismal end of the season show?
Is ETH the man for it? That's a massive change when a club brings in a new manager and new philosophy.
You are right. United could be the biggest challengers. Not because of Eriksen. But in addition to the great Dane, they have a new man at the helm. Someone who has a clear vision and brand of play.
That was lacking under Ole, and then under that temp guy.

You didn't mention Liverpool. If you include City then surely Liverpool deserve a mention.
For me, I cannot see either of Liverpool or City, being described in the mix for the top 4 chase. Why? Because they are guaranteed top 2 of the top 4 slots.
The league isn't that competitive at the very top.
Jesus is a good signing, but they still dont have a single player that would get into our strongest side. I am not even thinking about them this season.
Chelsea's threat depends on how successfully they rebuild their defence. The loss of Rudiger is huge.
United - just an utter mess. Eriksen may bind them together a bit, but their CM and defence is weak.
As far as I am concerned, if we get Spence and then add one or two more than this season is all about closing the gap to the top, rather than looking over our shoulder.
With Conte there for a full season, and with the signings we have made we should expect to over take chelsea, as things stand.
Man City getting Haaland is the big gamble, no doubting his ability, just his injury record. I actually think they will be weaker this season.
Liverpool are a VVD injury away from battling for fourth place, the recent friendly gunning by United showed that they just don’t have sufficient strength in that defence without him. I am also not a huge fan of Darwin No net.
United - not a chance they will trouble us, more mediocre signings and ETH under serious pressure by Xmas
Chelsea - I think they are weaker as things stand, Sterling does not replace Lukaku and Koulibaly can’t replace 2 Centre Backs. That said, I think they will continue to spend and if they land a decent Centre forward and decent Centre back then they will be a huge threat for the title.
Arsenal - hahaha, they have “Tets”, they will be lucky to qualify for Europe altogether.
Clubs that should be worried:
Leeds - selling their best players and having a novice in charge
Southampton - awful squad, streaky manager, little money
Everton - Poor squad, No money, novice manager, sold their best player, still seen as a scalp by lower sides
If I am a Forest, Bournemouth or Fulham fan then I would have some confidence that staying up is more possible than usual

I heard from an ardent Leeds fan that they are active in the market and he was not worried at all...He thinks their newish manager will do well.
“Sterling does not replace Lukaku“ - replacing what exactly? Guy barely played and was awful when he did.
Chelsea would hand finished a lot higher than spurs if not for key injuries last year. With all teams fit chelsea will be much a bigger threat than utd and arsenal. It’s all moot though. Signings to be made and who cares unless we’re challenging for silverware

Are you seriously questioning whether Chelsea signing the best centre back in the world and Raheem Sterling has improved the team?

Only City worry me in that I can't see how their levels are supposed to drop when they have just bought Haaland, and if their levels aren't dropping then it's unlikely anyone is going to compete with them for the title.
As far as United, Arsenal and Chelsea, I'm not really worried. It's all a bit of an unknown with them. They might do really well with what they've done, or they might not. It's ourselves that should be the worry to fans of those teams and above.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You didn't mention Liverpool. If you include City then surely Liverpool deserve a mention.
For me, I cannot see either of Liverpool or City, being described in the mix for the top 4 chase. Why? Because they are guaranteed top 2 of the top 4 slots.
The league isn't that competitive at the very top.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool I can see dropping their level a bit. They might still retain their level as well, it's hard to know and I suppose quite dependent on how Darwin does. I only mention City because they are already dominating the league and have now bought the best young striker to the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dominating the league, they won by a point
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How many titles have they won compared to Liverpool in the last 5 years?
There you go.

We’re not going to be title contenders so I’d consider our rivals this season to be Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal.
They’ve all made decent signings but none that exactly worry me.

Fine margins at the top.
Over the last 4 seasons city have one more point than than us.
Yes I know 3 titles to 1, but we have a champions league too.
You remember that night right
