I suppose it's an even fight now with Liverpool splashing the cash too. I think the difference between the 2 in the last few years in terms of the success rate is the manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
nothing to do with their massive budget and squad.

We operate on a spurs type budget.

Even

You have both spent a lot in recent times, although in terms of the origins of your success yours has obviously been a lot more organic. That will always be a mark against City.

Still, ultimately I think the success between the 2 just boils down to Pep being slightly better than Klopp.

Absolute rubbish, since Klopp has been in charge we have a similar net spend to spurs if not less.

Stop talking shiiiiit, city operate on a different level and you know it.

Sure but not every player that teams buy or sell is worth that value. You sold Coutinho for twice as much as he was worth which helped you a lot.

How has the net spend been lately? Can't be much in it between the 2 teams with what you've both bought and sold.

Lately peps net spend is something like 5 times more than Klopps since they’ve been in the PL.

Chelsea getting Koulibaly is a big one. Sterling is a top player. They've still got lots to do, though. We've definitely improved most on paper so far.

Don't be bitter with your views.

The only two reasons Liverpool can compete with City are Jurgen Klopp and a transfer team/strategy that is levels above anything else in the world.

Chelsea would hand finished a lot higher than spurs if not for key injuries last year. With all teams fit chelsea will be much a bigger threat than utd and arsenal. It’s all moot though. Signings to be made and who cares unless we’re challenging for silverware
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We out performed you from Dec to May with an inferior squad. You cannot blame injuries too much, your squad is massive and your manager takes some blame for not making things work.

So you outperformed us during the carefully selected period that you have chosen during which you played us 3 times home and away, you lost all three games without scoring a single goal, with your apparently superb manager while we were stuck with our blameworthy one and still didn't gain enough points to finish in front of us.

If we ever manage to outperform you then you will clearly be in very, very serious trouble.

Spurs only managed to finish ahead of United and Arsenal because they had no European football. Spurs bottled and chickened out of the conference league. They were struggling badly with European commitments and are now in the Champions League. Doesn't bode well.

posted on 17/7/22

Well currently you don't have starters let alone upgraded the replacements....and it's a long season so you have to expect injuries and have to rely on the squad. Its hardly an excuse when the squad is so expensively assembled and these issues you perceived are not addressed.
